Dave that’s an interesting point you make about superpowered characters battling regular humans who are enhanced. Interestingly, the Invincible comics tackle this issue, where Viltrumites absolutely hammer any regular humans with powers that they battle etc, it’s basically the case of if someone took a punch from Superman their body would explode, the guy can benchpress a planet theoretically.

I’m sure you probably know this but may have forgot, but referring to Spiderman punching Doc Ock… I’m pretty sure they have confirmed in the comics he pulls his punches for that fact exactly. He knows that if he punched someone at full power, he would knock their head off their shoulders. I’m sure many heroes do exactly that once they have learned how to control their abilities.

@@chevysupreme Do you like newer style comics where people's jaws are being punched off sometimes or older style comics where they were still kind of cutesy and funny and unlikely to have something like that occurring? I'd love to know your reasons for why (whichever you might prefer).

I completely understand the appeal of Mezco, but I think I just prefer the general design aesthetics that Medicom does with their MAFEX figures.

A comment for the algorithm demons. I own both versions of mezco moon knight both look really good because of the stylized body socks theyre wearing but man, it just really kills articulation. Moon knight's drawn so many times bounding and jumping like spider-man or batman, and every time I try those types of poses for Moon Knight the suit material either fights me or stretches and makes worrying sounds. Still love the figures though.

@@DisplayingModelBehaviour oh mezco released an all white version and the marvel now black and white version of moon knight, the only one out on my shelf is the black and white one. Honestly, I am somewhat considering sending you the all white one.

Here is a comment I couldn't post under the recent Live Stream: There was something in the video that I thought would make for an interesting series, and that was the stuff about the Art and Artists that David really likes and those he didn't like initially, maybe even those he stopped liking later, all that would make for really interesting content and to see how they depicted different characters, particularly Spider-Man. I love the art of John Byrne, it is really clean and simple seeming and a lot of the cartoons and toys I like were based on his artwork and designs as well, and he is also a toy collector with a nice collection of art and figures in his work room at home. He shows it in an interview available on KZbin, I really like how he makes Magneto and purchased now old comic books with his art just for his designs and style. A lot of people love and praise Kirby, and there are so many great artists to go through, covering Marvel and even DC and other comic works both old and new and studying the progress in their styles and art and the characters they created or really worked on seriously and are known for. So if you ever make an Art series of the artists you like, dislike, and grew to love, it would also make for a lot of funny commentary probably and funny pictures demonstrating what you're talking about. This was in response to some other comment left under the live stream somehow: He mentions it in the stream (regarding his opinions on the Moon Knight Trailer which he could make a video about if he hasn't already). Another person asked a few times about what his favorite 5 figures would be that he would save if he could only save 5 figures, but I don't think they ever got an answer for it and then they asked again but he missed that too possibly. A question to any and all reading this: I'd love to know what sorts of teams anyone reading this would make for the Sinister Six or the types of villains they think would team up and the types of villains they don't think ever would really (like Kraven for example was brought up as an unlikely villain to team up, and possibly also Carnage). It might make for a fun video or discussion as well, particularly if some more obscure characters might be brought up. I don't think you need to fear the algorithm thing all too much, and you can see if you can find someone experienced and trustworthy who may be able to confirm that it doesn't really worry too much about if your view count reduces for some videos, so long as perhaps it meets a certain amount overall per day possibly or something like that. I'm not sure myself though regarding that, but I'd hate that such concerns might stifle material that you would have fun making. Perhaps a compromise might be that you make your high view expectation type standard stuff as well as one riskier one released along with it, or possibly snuck into some part of the video, but otherwise I think a dual approach where you make what you want and also make what you think is helping the channel and release them on the same day might work just fine, and it might also bring others to the channel potentially, you could somehow "spice up" the reviews too in some way or bring up other things at the same time if it might make them seem safer to upload that way.

The effect pieces are really cool, but I just hate soft goods on figures. The Jim Lee Magneto was muscular, but soft goods looses all of the muscle definition. They look like some cosplayer at Comic Con, or like Adam West Batman. Hoping MAFEX makes a 616 version

The AOA Mafex Magneto is pretty easy to customize into the 616. You just have to cut his hair and change his cape.

It’s not a sock it’s pajamas! 😂😂 I’m not a big fan of most hyper realistic Mezco fied designs but I do like the power effects on this guy. But right now my go-to Magneto is a hybrid Mafex with the Marvel Legends. It looks great!

For some bewildering reason, a local toy specialty store had this in his glass desk (on full display and for sale) for about a year or more, and no one bought it. I passed it up many times, not being able to justify spending that much money on an action figure. Then, the shop owner had his Black Friday weekend sale, and I managed to get this Magneto for about $72, when it was normally about 85. I had given in by that point. It was actually my third Mezco by that time. I'm so glad I got him, and he's a great poster boy for why one should look into getting more high end action figures. But, that doesn't mean I'm seriously looking into Hot Toys or anything. Hot Toys: the company that demands you sell everything else you own and give them a piece of your soul if you want one of their figures.

Omg I have this figure except the white one. Great figure, I loved the affects with all the guns. WHAT!! So fun. I love the white legends one too, I loved new Secret Wars. Sorry. Not so much the main story but all the battle world, what if type spin offs. So good, great comics.

I actually owned this Magneto and several other Mezco figures, for a while. I had Cyclops as well, and while Mezco makes a very fine "high end" product with most of their One:12 series, the figures do have flaws, and some more than others. One of the things that bothers me most about Mezco 1/12 figures, is how they refuse to stick to the source material. They always have to add their little "Mezco touch" to almost all of their figures. It especially bothered me with the unnecessary "piping and paneling" on Cyclops and Magnetos designs. It's just unnecessary, and add in the lack of trunks for both Magneto and Cyclops, and it eventually led me to selling off the figures, along with several other Mezco figures. Like I said, they are cool per se, but they just stray too far away from the source material for my tastes a lot of times. But I do still go to Mezco for "Movie/TV" based characters. That's where Mezco excels in my opinion. Also, the standard Blade and Deadpool comic figures were superb and I kept those two.

This is definitely a good figure. But I prefer the Marvel Legends Magneto for my Jim Lee X-Men ... it's the classic look.

I went with the MAFEX version. They are my goto, although the figures do often suffer from QC issues. The Magneto I got from them was really clean🙌🙌🙌🤡

Mezco is my go to figures.magneto is one of my favourite figure but I love the Spider-Man’s from there line except the classic and miles.those figures have quality issues.they seem to fix them in the black suit and mcu figures.in general any marvel mezco are awesome.

Cool. I got mine. The first one had lose legs. Then thanks to website i got replacment. It was cool but the problem was his arm was broken and i didnt notice because of the costume... That was the Day that i gave up mezco

Didn't they have an comic where someone takes over Spidermans body and punches someone then realizes that he had been pulling his punches for years so he wouldn't really injure criminals? I'm in full agreement with your sentiment about nonsuperpowered people taking punches that should kill them. (Also small gripe but I can't stand it when characters with weapons don't use theyre weapons lol like TMNT ) anyway great video and love the figure although way out of my price range.

Great review, love Mezco, if you want a helmet buy a Legend and just put the head in boiling water and you can “rip” the helmet off, that is how I did my kit bash ultimate legends Magneto

fun forgotten fact: you mentioned how doc ock is a normal person but in his very first appearance he was given super strength from a chemical accident. however over time that aspect of the character has largely been forgotten by the comics

Interesting point! Though if we’re being super technical Mephisto recently resurrected Doc Ock and specifically made him 100% mentally and physically how he was before his accident. (It’s fun swapping comic lore :) )

@@DisplayingModelBehaviour forgot about mephisto’s magic, but yeah even prior to that his super strength was practically ignored since most writers and fans forgot about that power, it was only established in like one text box anyways. besides, normal doc ock is a bit more interesting from a storytelling perspective when you put him against someone as strong as spider-man. completely agree though, it’s always fun to swap knowledge on comics

Seems like you are completely transitioning out of Legends slowly though 😔. I shouldn’t talk it’s probably better to trade off then try and collect Everything like me lol.
