I absolutely love the Neo and the Empyrean. Great to see Meze continuing to evolve but keeping the focus on enjoyment. My two Mezes differentiate themselves in that regard, so easy to listen to, they play well with dozens of genres, and the ergonomics and build are stellar. Excited to see how the 109s are received. Fabulous interview ✌️

I think this is the first headphone that I’ve been excited for in a long while. Haven’t been too interested in Meze stuff previously, but have always considered their work very aesthetically pleasing. Hopefully this pulls through sonically as well. Thanks for this coverage guys. Hoping to try these at CanJam!

When k bought the 99 classics I had tested a shot ton of headphones around 250-400 price range and these were hands down the best allround travel headphones . Am curious about these in both quality and price range. Have heard the entire meze range to mention

Antonio seems like a nice guy. The 109s seem very on brand for Meze, in terms of style and structure. Can't wait to hear if they fit the sound MO as well.

Very interesting. The 99s are one of the only models I've ever tried, regardless of price, that don't trigger tension headaches for me, so a more sonically advanced headphone that's an ergonomic relative of the 99 has my immediate and rapt attention. I really appreciate Meze's next-level commitment to comfort and ergonomics. They're probably #1 ergonomically, for me, with DCA in a close second. That counts for a lot. Tons of good sounding headphones are just unusable for me due to headache-inducing ergonomics.

Really excited for this! Given that Meze is constantly praised for comfort and build quality, now if they manage to bring sound technicalities on par with the price range as well, this will be a killer product.

I'm glad that Antonio is being forward with the dilemma of pricing his new products. Meze isn't Sennheiser and he's being realistic as a business owner to provide for the future well-being of his company. I hope that 99s stay relatively profitable for Meze and 109s do well! Love my 99 noir as my fun cans.

Tried these headphones at canjam socal this year! I would definitely agree with Mr. Meze. He nailed trying to get the headphones to produce a visceral and joyful experience. I was so at one with the music and remember thinking to myself, I can really feel the music, as if I'm part of it.

The 99 is a brilliant product. Tuned for typical consumers, rather than audiophiles, and sounds significantly better than other bass heavy cans at this price point. I prefer the 109 by quite a lot , but most of my non audiophile friends prefer the 99s.

I think the 99 Classics are a really good entry point for audiophiles who are more used to the consumer-oriented, bassy sound signature. I had a pair of 99s that I gave to my brother, who was using some Bose headphones. He thinks they are amazing, and compared with what he had, they are on a whole different level! I've since evolved from a need for a warmer signature to a more resolving, neutral response. Preferring tight, controlled bass and crystalline mids to the overall warmer sound signature. I want details and pristine vocals these days! I found that in the HD 660S. If you can find a pair for under $300, they are superb! I paid $255.

Excited about this too. $600-$800 would be right in my budget abilities right now. I really like my 99Noir even with their limitations. What are some current highly regarded cans in the same price range? Ananda, DCA Aeon open or closed....?

For my part I can really recomend the ananda, they are the reason for me to want the arya.( I also have the lcd x 2021, the dt1990 pro and had the focal clear mg but while the focal are great in punch I sold them for the lcdx) currently I switch a lot between ananda and lcdx, really recomend both.

Lcdx are better in everything but ananda has more soundstage and for some songs thats great.

We need some new closed backs to rival the AKG K371 and DCA Closed X which both have their own issues. Almost all other companies just make open backs with good tuning at the moment, closed backs are left in the dust...

@rene837

@hartyewh1 2 жыл бұрын
@@rene837 My guess is that the K 371 has to be a fluke to some extent since it's tonality is almost second to none regardless of price. I don't see why no manufacturer would just do that if they could. The open feel of the Liric, the tonality of a 371 and decent technicals would be an insane product to put out.

Really that's what everyone does anyways in this world as it's pretty small niche size doesn't draw volumes of people...tho I like when he said "so what do I do?" In terms of the 99 being the best seller...well unfortunately you need to raise the price and risk lowering sales numbers. It's a gamble but so is coming out with a semi "future proofing" price that may put even more people not interested bcuz of the $ tag
