Do you think the empyrean is a lifechanging upgrade from the hd660s? I currentlly own the hd660s and planning to sell them and get used empyrean, topping a90,d90 stack what do you think?

@@R4N2Jz I tried Focal Utopia before buying the Elite. I didn't like the sound as much but most importantly they were terribly uncomfortable. I also wanted something that I could wear for hours!

@@askgostev a friend of mine told me that the utopia is the best headphone for my music taste, that the Elites sound like 1000$ headphone but with a really really good build and comfort.

@@R4N2Jz are you buying the headphone for your friend, or for yourself? Because every ear is different and you should not trust your friends in this. BTW, I heard this exact statement a few times before related to Empyrean. So this is very suspicious. it's quite possible your friend is just passing what he heard in reviews (and even about different model). The Elite was just released recently so I would be surprised if there were many people who already had a chance to hear it personally :)

I don’t get it? Just more high frequencies? Just use an EQ to achieve that.

It's not just high frequencies, but rather that the drivers in the Elite are more efficient and therefore the sound is perceived as more dynamic and resolute - especially with plenty of power driving the headphone. We hear more energy in the overall sound, but then again, everyone hears differently! 🙂

No offense, but as a teacher in a past life, "unique" should not be qualified. Unique means "one of a kind".

Company is unique. One of a kind. They're unlikely to create only one of whatever product just so it fits others' insistence on what a bloody word means. Humans these days more often than not get stuck on word definitions, & one's subjective perception of it. To you and everyone else, get over it.
