Adjusting the valves on a Perkins AD3.152 engine.
After our engine rebuild I fit the rocker assembly and adjust the valves. I also fit the Thermostat.

For future reference Lance I think the camera should be a lot closer for adjusting valve clearance as I could not really see what you were doing. Cheers Ian from Markwood

I see where you set the valves for each piston separately. Is there any benefit compared to doing 1, 2, 3 and 5 valves with on TDC and rotate a full turn to do 4 and 6 valves?

No same end result, I just go this way from habbit I suppose but both are fine.

Nothing serious really it is just good practice to fit the valves into the seal they were in as they are possibly lapped in to that seat.

All the best Lance. I have two questions (not related to this build). First off are the tires, on the tractor behind you, aren't the treads facing the wrong direction? Second question would you recommend the aviation sealant on the engine cases of my 50 year old Triumph motorbike to stop it "marking it's territory" on my pristine garage floor?

G Day Grant, Tractor tyres have the arrow pointing forward at the top for traction but towards the rear if on the road a lot for less road wear. These are on correctly I reckon. On the old Triumph i would use loctite 515.
