The dudes with the Tanzbar usually have the grooves, too bad the interface is such a pain in the ass and you can't live record an unquantized sequence.

how difficult is this sequencer to program?

good question

As far as building a very basic beat goes, it is fairly simple. If you start getting into changing the sound per step or performing with it on the fly, it is a little more complicated compared to other sequencers. There are two modes which behave differently, so it isn't obvious at first what is going on. It takes some getting used to but it sounds so good that it is worth the limitations. The synth voice has to be entered step by step and can't be altered without starting over. That isn't ideal, except I usually get a good sound this way, so it works out. I'm actually planning on uploading a video soon where I build a pattern from scratch which will show the process.

@@forgery810 looking forward to the video. I do have the tanzmaus, and it wasnt too hard to program, but I ended up mostly using it as a sound module, if I got this thing, it would be pointless to not use the sequencer. I like the idea of onboard sequencers. is this similar to the tanzmaus programming?

Yes, I have the Tanzbar Lite as well and they are programmed similarly. It has the two modes where one programs an initial sound and steps and the other allows you to change the sound live. Switching modes resets the sound which took me awhile to get used to. The Tanzbar 2, though is easier to use I think, because it is larger and has dedicated buttons for play/stop, accents, rolls, pattern banks and a mute mode. It also essentially has 24 sounds you can have going on one pattern, although some sounds can't share the same trigs. So it is laid out much better but has a lot of similar idiosyncrasies.

So boring sound... Really why you dont demonstrate power Industrial drums for example? Why just these 100x copy from roland alterred sounds?

depends what you're looking for. Pretty sure these textures are pleasing to his ears. Were to mine. The high hats are totally un-techno. That's really cool!
