The receive antenna is a down spout and gutter on my barn. Almost any antenna that can hear the noise can cancel the noise too.

How do you like your 5000? I’ve always wanted one. Love how it has all the knobs and switches avoiding having to go into the menu to change them as I do on my 3000. I really love the noise cancellation on my 3000 but the 5000 is adjustable by the knob which I think is so much better than mine on the 3000 which again has to be adjusted through the menu. The ability to adjust the radio is so much better on the 5000. How do you like it? I sure want one.

It is a great radio really spread out with just the right knobs and switches to avoid the menu's most of the time. Best transmit audio of any radio I have ever heard. Awesome receive audio. Beautiful display but wish it was brighter. You need a band scope like the elecraft P3 to really fully take advantage of this radio though.

DOT7700 I use an RSP1A as assistance in the band scope department. I went from a 991 to a 3000 and finally to the 5000. Very happy.

I have a MFJ- 1026 as well. It really works when configured properly. I also run a 5000. Best radio I ever sat in front of. If you connect two dipoles that are perpendicular, you can use the phase control on the 1026 to electrically rotate your antenna pattern and effectively move the lobes and nulls. 73, de N4HNH

Hi any chance of doing another video of the rear connections from the mfj to your 5000 tnx
@redf72093 жыл бұрын
Its a bit unfortunate that the 'proof' is undermined by the guy's being received talking about sudden improvement in reception and signal so the improvement we hear could be due to that not the MFJ!

wonderful radio !!!! what is your noise antenna for the MFJ ? thanks

Great demo! What was that "crinkly" sound in the background? It sounds like you have a fireplace going in the other side of the shack or something. Thanks for the post.

Gracias y quedo atento.

With the noise reduction power of the 5000 why would you want to use the MFJ?
@suou7938 Жыл бұрын
it's a different mechanism, which requires 2 antenna but is fundamentally more correct way to reduce just the noise. 5000's NR does a good job on it's own but it also distorts the sound so is sometimes harder to understand what people are saying.
