everytime i watch these videos of him, it makes my heart ache, such an unbelievably, ridiculously talented guy he was, one for the ages of our generation for real
@arthurlima23826 жыл бұрын
that's true, man. IMO he was the Midas of Rock. All of his projects were pure gold (Soundgarden, TOTD, Audioslave, Solo Career). He reached the "Godlike" Status in life. He's jamming around in heaven with Freddie, Cash, Hendrix, Joplin, Morisson, Bowie, etc. And his voice will be echoing on earth forever and warming up our hearts

When Chris died I took three days off of work. My friends couldn’t believe what was wrong we me, they said “you’ve never met that guy and he wouldn’t know you from shit, or help you if he could”. I said he already helped me and a lot of other people. See, when someone makes something like this song, when someone else’s lives through it it’s assuring for them to know someone’s been through, and is still living through the same shit. That’s how music connects us all
@CateB-um7lu3 жыл бұрын
Perfectly said. They've helped in ways only others in the same situation would know. The power of music is so much more then just sounds. It's stories that so many of us have also experienced and it's healing. It's cathartic.

Actually, he would know you from shit because he just knew and wanted to know everyone. I was on West 4th street with my wife and 2 kids. We just finished eating in Burritoville and walked out and I saw someone who looked like Chris from behind. I asked my wife, " Is that Chris Cornell?" She replied, "GO! GO! GO!" He was almost in his RV when I called out "Chris!" He turns around, comes off the street back to our side of the sidewalk and say, "Hi, how are you doing?" I said, " I just went to your concert last week at MSG and that our family loves you. Your music is beyond the individual, it's universal!" He replied, "Thanks." Sweet and simple. My wife asked him to take a photo, he shakes my hand, bends down and puts his face next to my daughter and son. We said thanks and he did as well, then he left. He knew us, he smiled, and he enjoyed being around people.

I was the dog for 6 months in my last relationship. It’s the greatest feeling in the world to look back at the person I was then and realize im out. This song is about a girlfriend that treats the guy like shit constantly and he loses his identity and mind trying to be the person she wants. He can’t take her off that pedestal because he “loves” her and never calls her bluff. I begged and persuaded her to come back a dozen times just to be fooled and crush again within a week each time. I just recently got off the antidepressants and therapy from that toxic relationship but I’m still not there yet, especially my self esteem. Shadow on the Sun was what I thought I could connect with (check it out) because I always thought it was my fault and I could find the magic answer but as I become more aware it’s this song, Call Me a Dog. It’s bad to be able to feel every word from Chris Cornell, but I’m happy I can use his songs (audioslave mainly) to process my thoughts. RIP to the man with the voice of an angel and the pain of a thousand knives. ❤️ Great song. What a poet. Edit: This audio quality is equal to the recorded version. Mind blowing that he gives it 200% every time.

I keep watching this video over & over. It always amazed me how he sang with so much power, but sometimes would barely open his mouth. He was such a beast on vocals & guitar both. He has always fascinated me. He was so dark, mysterious & brooding. But he had the greatest pipes in rock music. I love & miss Chris Cornell dearly. Rest In Peace brother. The knights of the Sound table still continue to ride on in your honor Chris...🤘🏻

You call me a dog well that's fair enough 'Cause it ain't no use to pretend You're wrong When you call me out I cant hide anymore I have no disguise you cant see through Well you say its bad luck To have fallen for me Well what can I say to make it good for you You wore me out like an old winter coat Trying to be safe from the cold But when its my time to throw The next stone I'll call you beautiful if I call at all You tell me I'm low cause I've slept on the floor And out in the woods with the badgers & wolves You threw me out cause I went digging for gold And I came home with a handful of coal But when its my time to throw the next stone I'll call you beautiful if I call at all And when its my time to call your bluff I'll call you beautiful or leave it alone You call me a dog Well that's fair enough It doesn't bother me as long as you know Bad luck will follow you If you keep me on a leash and You drag me along
