I learned a lot from you watching you color. I really want to learn Copic coloring and how to do it well. I was watching another colorist with these markers and she said that when they leaked, she took the top off to even out the pressure in the markers. I don’t know if that will help you with your problem with the brown markers or not but it’s worth a try. Great video!

This is soooooo cute & fabulous!!! I've seen a similar mechanism, but the element only spun, rather than spinning AND sliding. I love this! Definitely pinning it for future reference. Thank you for sharing, & have a fantastic day, Laura! :)

Thanks, Andrea! On the Square Type channel you'll find both types, but the lady used paper hubs, which are kind of tricky to make. Karolyn Loncon discovered that the spin & slide discs work even better and I just figured out how to link it to the pulltab. 😁

Hi. Thank you for this tutorial : it is very clear / perfect (not like my english, I'm french !). Can you tell me the size of the spin you used make the macanism turn (in the video time-line 9:30). Is it possible to I use any material ? For example, can I take a wooden skewer (which I cut very small ! )

This is adorable...how fun! I'm new to alcohol marker coloring. Which do you normally do...lightest, medium, darkest &then back to lightest do you usually do darkest, medium, lightest and back to darkest to blend? I only ask because I noticed you did it both ways in different areas. Thanks!!!
@LauraDovaloBagatelas
@LauraDovaloBagatelas 4 жыл бұрын
I sometimes start with the lightest to cover the whole surface (especially when coloring skin) and then I go from dark to light. But mostly I'll do dark to light. 😁

Delightful card! As for the brush tip on the Copics getting smushy, I switched all of mine out to their Fine Nib, since I almost only color small images, & this factor became bothersome. I wanted to keep the chisel end for air brushing. HTH. Thanks for the video, & have a lovely day. :o)
@LauraDovaloBagatelas
@LauraDovaloBagatelas 4 жыл бұрын
Glad to know I'm not the only one struggling with this issue. I'm going to start storing the tricky markers with the brush nib pointing up instead of down... maybe it'll help. How did you use to store them?
@dww786
@dww786 4 жыл бұрын
@@LauraDovaloBagatelas Copic says it doesn't matter how you store them (vertically vs horizontally), but I think they mean as regards ink flow---it only makes sense to me that a brush nib would do better stored up, do you agree? I store mine in the Copic aluminum case, which I would keep with the markers horizontal, ideally. However, the case is heavy, & I tire of turning it from the floor to use them. LOL :o)

Thank you! Check out the original version of this card. She uses paper hubs (instead of the plastic dot) that she cuts herself and two slits instead of a channel. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYDZgHWraLysrqM If your prefer my version, you might be able to find some kind of hard plastic rod, that you can cut in slivers.

I, too, went looking for an ALTERNATIVE HUB, as, WITH SHIPPING, the ones from MFT were pricey. However, as my wonderful hubby pointed out, I was spending more on gasoline than I would have spent on the S&H (This was before the recent gas glut & quarantining.). Anyway, the exercise gave my gray cells a workout, but all the beads and tubing I could imagine were no match for the purchased item. (Though I DO have a fab design idea in my head!! teehee)

@LauraDovaloBagatelas
@LauraDovaloBagatelas 4 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that. What kind of thread did you use and how many times did you wind it around the disk? I used clear and smooth (non elastic) sewing machine thread and I wrapped it three times... It's also very important to adhere it very well. You could try to cut slits in your back panel and then tape it, for extra hold. Mine also glimmers through the channel a little bit, but it doesn't bother me.
