Glad this car has such good stats. It's the first electric sports car we have really had (I know some super cars, but they don't really count for normal people) it has range, power, feedback. The only complaint I have, as someone who can't charge my own car at home, is that 160KW is too slow for charging.

It was good seeing other cars slowing down so as the driver and passenger could have a look at the car on the motorway/carraigeway. If you had showed this clip to MG directors thirty years ago they would all have been clapping each other on their backs saying that’s 2024 and we are smashing it out the park, what a Car. we must be running our R&D brilliantly and even says our other MG models he like aren’t we great….😮 no you ran the brand into the ground with no investment or forward thinking…It’s great and sad at the same time a great Car but had to take a Chinese company to have the balls to bring the Badge back on U.K. roads to the next level, something our fumbling outdated management couldn’t do and watched as incompetence at the wheel ended a era and closed factories. I’d take that car in a heartbeat in the highlands on a nice day roof down - stunning. Yes it might not pop and bang or growl with a engine that smoke claim to need I just need a fun car to drive and that has it in buckets. One reviewer took it over the ski centres roads (old military road) through the Cairngorms national park and it just looked the part and took it in its stride before driving back down to London 480 miles.

Perhaps a dumb question... but in "one peddle" mode do the brake lights still come on so the vehicle behind you knows you're slowing down? It's my experience that FEW people possess the ability or are unable to grasp the concept of "depth perception". (My driving a standard almost exclusively has created a few close calls from behind when slowing down in gear without needing to brake....LoL)

Interesting. But I am always a bit sceptical when there is absolutely nothing to criticise. Not a single thing. I saw other reviews when the driver by example complains about the screens which are partly invisible because of the steering wheel.

A week after filming, it rained, and when I opened the driver's door to get into the car, the auto wipers switched on, and swooshed water into the inside of the door. There's a negative, but I didn't realise it at the time of filming. Sorry.

This wiper issues can also occur in the MG 4 and I have found it down to leaving the wipers switched on when you last left the vehicle you sit on the seat and the car turns on and the wipers will wipe. Les

​@@UnderWarrantyI have a Cyberster for 2 months now and traveled 5,000 km. (Thailand) The screen viewing interference by the steering wheel is minimal and for practical purposes a non issue. The left screen is normally showing the "map" or "Android Auto" and is easily visible for all functions. The right screen I normally keep on "energy consumption" and there too it's only slightly hindered. I don't even notice any inconvenience at this point it's so minor.

In hot climates mid-day, (such as Thailand) its not advised to enjoy top down motoring thinking the A/C will effectively keep you cool. Climate settings on "auto" means the car will try and keep 23 degrees when it's 37 degrees outside. In trying to bridge this temperature differential the overall energy consumption climbs quite a bit. Even with windows up. Hence I enjoy top down motoring in early mornings or evenings and avoid mid-day sun. When the outside temperatures are tolerable I turn the climate controls off when top down. The screen panel inserted between the rollover hoops is nicely functional eliminating most buffeting. 👍 Nothing like arriving at your destination top down, with your favorite tunes blasting at "disturbing the peace" volumes, and then open the scissors doors and watch the folks around you smile with envy. Such is the little joys in life! 🤣

Miles is 5'11", Charles (videographer) is 6'1". But today we've handed over a Cyberster to someone who is 6'4", and he's driven 180 miles back to Oxford in it... So you probably will fit!

Motorway speed was in line with the prevailing limit/traffic speed. So 70mph where possible, 50mph where mandated, less when stuck in traffic around Birmingham.

As for performance cars, no Boxster owner will be interested in this car. You buy a Boxster for the handling(which electric cars just cant do yet), so you can say you own a Porsche and so the 911 owners can look down their nose at you, even though the Boxster is superior to the 911 in most regards.

This car should have been a hybrid, not a full EV Small lightweight battery, for around town, and short journeys, and a powerful V6 for maximum fun. The only problem is that it weighs well over 2000Kg, so its far too heavy for a roadster. Inca Yellow, that was a Triumph Stag and Spitfire colour, back in the late 70s.

Your own video makes you look too big (tall) for the car and you are only 5ft 11. I hear what you say about headroom but my eyes tell me it looks designed for shorter people. The battery floor plan makes sense in a saloon but just putting sports car body on top of a saloon battery pack seems to have resulted in something that "looks" like a sport but may isn't. Many good things there though.

Picked my Cyberster twin motor version up from Chorley motors last week and drove it down to cornwall for the weekend. I can honestly say that the real world range I experienced was pretty much the same as what I experience in my 3 year old model 3 dual with 30k miles on it. The MG appears to deliver a real range of approx 240 ish miles whilst being driven energetically. This is pretty much the same as my model 3 (despite predicted range of 300+ miles on a 100% charge). My conclusion is that the Cyberster has more than enough range for me between charges, and TBH after 200+ miles of driving I’m ready for a coffee stop anyway. So no issue. It’s also worth mentioning that my first few days of driving the Cyberster have resulted in a permanent grin fixed on my mid life crisis face. It is such a fun car to drive, in every way that I hoped it would be. Look I’m not saying it’s better or worse that a Tesla. I’m still keeping my model 3 for the foreseeable future, and love what it’s capable of. Also no one can beat the Tesla simplicity of intuitive user experience (I’ve owned teslas for over 10 years now and think I’ve looked at the manual once!). These are totally different cars designed for completely different use cases and will probably sell in completely different volumes. Let’s all just congratulate MG for bringing the first electric 2 seater rag top to the market and rejoice in the fact that we have an ever increasing selection of great new EVs to choose from now. Also big thanks to Chorley motors for the perfect, seamless and enjoyable buying experience. Great job Megan and Miles!

I appreciate that for MG this model has great build quality but as a brand it can't be measured against a Jag, Porsche or BMW. They are known brands with known quality and depreciation figures. MG has a history of being cheap with high depreciation. As unique as this is in 2024... By 2025 / 26 the novelty will have worn off and "deals" will be out there. Look at the MG4 X-Power. It is now already being discounted by £10,000 off..!
