MG Hi-Zack Review

Before E-Packs were created, most beam rifles were charged with the energy from its generator. Essentially, when they grabbed the beam rifle they would have a plug which connected in the hand and transfered the energy to the beam rifle. Beam sabers are the same, the hilt generated the Blade-shaped I Field and the energy would come to the generator. For Mobile Suits like these, the generator had to have a very high output to power both the mobile suit and the weapon. The Federation had beam weapons in mind, while Zeon were did not so that is why Zakus could not use beam weapons and Gelgoogs could.

Vladimir Mihnea not quite. Beam rifles where pre charged before deploying meaning after a certain number of shots where fired it was dead weight and would have to be recharged. E-caps just made it possible to reload while in battle. The reason some can't use beam weapons is more due to their generator output. Basically if a zaku was to fire a beam rifle the whole mobile suit would basically power cycle due to lack of power.

what they mean is the mobile suits generator isn't capable of powering the weapon since the beam rifle or beam weaponry draws a lot of power. And the rifle is connected to the generator via the hand which is also why Xeon weapons cannot be used federation mobile suits and vis versa. Now to your questionnaboyt the hi zack. The hi zack can only power one beam weapon at a time. Which is why one is a conventional weapon and other is a beam weapon

That's a pretty good point maybe the heat produced from the beam weaponry? Sounds like they could simply fix it by bulking the armor

I'm building one of those I bought many years ago. It has no inner frame whatsoever. Good color separation.
