Great car, ordered the PHEV version. over 30 miles in electric mode (over 40 in city) will cover most of my journeys now I work from home. black exterior with red leather interior. looks amazing and very quick for this size of vehicle. 7-year manufacturer-backed warranty sealed the deal for me.

MG has certainly stepped up its game when it comes to interior design, which is just as well as the early offerings of the new wave of MG models left a fair amount to be desired. I myself have not driven/tested the new HS yet, but I hope to do so at some point this year.

MG are really starting to gather speed, the changes from this to the GS are worlds apart, bar the engine. Fantastic value and fun.

This looks like a good option for a private buyer. Cheap loan, over 5 yrs, and the resale value will be good, with 2 yrs warranty remaining. MG are now making the sort of cars people want to buy. Damn shame it couldn’t do this when it was a British company, which it is very much NOT, now. We will see a lot of these on the roads, as the Kia’s, and Hyundai get more expensive. For most buyers VFM, is more important than ultimate refinement. I enjoyed your review. Subscribed:)

Honestly, we British are not good at making cars unless they are upmarket ones that only the rich can afford. I'm glad they got bought out. Either that or liquidation

@@MrLuke6593 It's better than I hoped ! Obviously haven't been able to do long runs, but it's super comfortable, drives really well great trim and finish on everything (can't fault the full leather interior). Excellent value for money - I love it !

We had a 2014 Audi A3 and the interior was identical. Makes sense considering SAIC makes VWs. The Audi was great so expect the MG is pretty good too.

@@BrownCarGuy On the floor !! No one is buying high end cars .. Most dealers are in denial and trying to keep the prices at normal levels and still relying on Cap prices ( Cap pricing is used for trade buyers ) Cap have not changed there prices since lockdown and most dealers are waiting for the new Cap prices to come into effect ! Cars under 10k are still selling but top end cars are dead in sales ... Dealers believe that when this Virus is over cars will be in high demand !! What they fail to realise is no one will be buying as they will not have any money and there is so many new cars that are piling up at most dealerships ... If this virus is not over in 3 months there will be deals galore to be had with 20 - 30% off new prices to get rid of there stock ! There are tons of 19 plates with delivery miles still not sold so it will become a buyers market in 3 months time if the virus is still here.

JOHN JAMES very insightful and I completely agree with you, I suspected this scenario, thanks for confirming. Prices definitely need to be adjusted down in the short term - surely it’s a matter of cash flow and survival. Wait and watch could be disastrous for dealers I think. Best move would be to entice whatever little demand there is to keep businesses just about ticking over. Like you, despite the inevitable offers that will come after lockdown, I think it will take a while for consumer confidence to return and for people to build up their depleted savings again - that’s where they were lucky enough to have any.
