This is almost the same as my old car (mine was a G plate) i saw this one for sale on ebay and nearly bought it, but at the price couldn't justify it. I do have a voucher sat at home to drive it later this summer to relive some memories. It could make me buy another or it could knock some sense into me to stick with just a Chimaera.

Had an MG Maestro Turbo back in 1990 .... Bought it from a dealer, with only 7000 miles on the clock .... Had been driving it the thousand miles a week whist commuting to Brighton from Southampton every morning, but after a year, and 65000 miles on the clock, things began to happen .... Drives shaft first, gearbox second and finally the last straw big end bearings .... Was glad to see the back it, hence, part exchanged it for a 1992 Merc M102 190 E 2.5 -16 Cosworth, which I kept until 2015 after which I found myself in Hong Kong sharing the table with a Chinese girl from Tuen Wan, New Territories ....

Talking dash was in the early cars with R series engine and the terrible twin webber carbs. The O series 2.0 EFI (great engine and proper electronic fuel injection unlike the XR3i and golf GTI) actually had a super smooth Honda gearbox. All the 2.0 models Montego and Maestro had Honda gearboxes. 1.3 A+, and 1.6 S series had notchey VW boxes. This model is also just fuel injected and not a turbo model.
