you'll be putting in all new bushes, I presume. I didn't catch if you needed to protect some of the holes with, say, a rubber bung. Or is the media blasting only aggressive enough for rust and paint removal? I have seen wishbones painted with black paint and a top coat. But also once in an American video they were white. Would you ever use Hammerite?

I'll most likely put in polyurethane bushes, probably a medium compound so as to keep the ride comfort, but give better feel and component location. With regard to media basting, it's best to tape over threads, and avoid any bearing surfaces all together. Aluminium Oxide is not as abrasive as sand, but will still ruin bearing surfaces. Threads are normally ok. I've used Hammerite before and it's a good product, but this time i'm looking for a higher-class finish - im not sure of the durability of base and clear, but that is the look I would like to achieve.

A MESSAGE TO THE VIEWERS - You should not have to cut kingpin. Go get an assembly manual. Take a good look at the diagram. If your hangup is the pressed in dust cover on the ends, take a self tapping metal screw and drill it into the cap. Then take a vice grip and pull it out. Depending on how strong you are, you may need to put the assembly in a vice. Happy Motoring.

Like the detailed process of tearing down the front suspension. How do you intend to paid the components now they are stripped down. thx

I presume he’ll be applying a red oxide primer?? Only guessing mind.

I used POR 15, as I like the durability and fact you’re not going to chip it when reassembling.

I've covered the parts in POR15 Metal Prep solution to ensure all remaining rust is converted. Then I'll spray them in a Wash Primer to etch into the metal before a 2k primer and final finishes.

Close, NOVOL Wash Primer, which looks very similar but.

Well done. Yeah that kingpin is a bear aint it. One of my wishbones damaged by prev owner so looking for replacement...

They are quite readily available, but finding a good quality one is key - there's some poor manufactured ones out there.
