Had a 1275 Midget back in the 70s. Cracking car but a money pit. Corrosion, front suspension wishbones and kingpins used to wear out quickly, but what a bucket of fun! Looking forward to the videos, don't keep us waiting too long!! Cheers.

I had an original black 1275cc MG Midget 1973-4. Loved it, only sold it because I went abroad to work. Midget owners always flashed their headlights to each other on the road. So much fun owning it. Good luck with this one, it'll be fine...

My MG midget was 1966 model. I bought it new when I was a student at South Shields at Marine college. I bought it without paying taxes for export since I was not a UK citizen, with a view to sell it after 1 year. I paid 365 pounds for this car. It was my pride and joy and was a great hit with the girls at Westoe Towers. I emigrated to Canada where I now live. My first car in Canada was MGB-GT. I love these cars and sometime see them in Canada. My car was also British racing green.

Rob, I only began watching your videos this year, coming across them by chance. I've looked at some of your back catalogue too. I've realised that what makes me enjoy them so much is your enthusiasm for what you do. It doesn't matter if it's a car that only makes you a couple of hundred, or a high end big earner. You love it and it makes me wish that I had your job! As an aside, this little MG will, I'm sure, be a lot of fun, but could be hiding some horrors. A friend had one almost 30 years ago as a second car and only sold it on when they had children. He was a keen car addict and kept it in good order. However, once he sold it, it became a restoration project in one of the car magazines at the time, something like Classic Motor or similar. Anyway, when they stripped down the paintwork to repair some rust they found that new panels had just been bodge welded directly over the rotten ones beneath! Whatever you do to it, or have to spend, someone will want it, knowing your level of finish and pride in your work. I just looked on Autotrader and was surprised at how cheap you can buy one! A 1965 model with leather interior for £8k! Some go for over 20K and some as little as £4.5k, which was a surprise!

My very first car.....a 1965 Mk2 MG Midget........I'm so jealous it really looks like a really good "Barn Find" I can't wait to see the progress you guys make. It will need attention to the SU fuel pump (underneath the boot floor area) a new set of plugs and points, a battery fresh gallon of petrol....and hey presto!

Now you talking Rob, had 3 of these over the years. Looking forward to seeing you inspect it and hope it’s worth saving. They certainly are quirky to look after. Very tight under the bonnet and they have a boxed in transmission tunnel which makes engaging the prop shaft splines in the gearbox end a little tricky to say the least. Chris is right such fun to drive with the most direct gear box action and steering I’ve ever come across.

Hello. The midget you have is a MK II, in my opinion the best shape i had a 65 fantastic 1098 motor, and they are now quite rare, when mine was on the road 5 years ago there were fewer than 65 on the road in britain. Also command strong money, i sold mine for £4.800 to a classic car dealer, it was on his stand at the classic car show a few months later for a lot more. Its a gem of a find.

Rob- Your content is bang on- It covers all tastes from the Ferrari to the bike- And all ages, Id say- Many of us have had some of those cars or worked on them. I’ve got a few and you’ve already done or touched on 2 of them- even though my daily run-around is a bit newer but still an MG. (TF160)- They are a joy to drive, easy to park and easy to repair. That Midget is easy-peasy as Rimmers, B&G have all the bits, if not a little pricey- you can even get Heritage shells- but you wont be doing that! The MG looks good- don’t jet wash it off- Id just hot soapy water and a brush of if you have to- a brush on the jet-washer.it wont take long- Its got no roof and you are going to get water into it- through the doors etc, so try and limit the high-pressure water! Next door neighbour had an A and a Midget- his wife flogger it all when he p’eed off for a song- She would let me buy it or them as it would remind her of him- I don’t get rid of stuff, I’m overrun with bikes and cars J It would make great TV content but I know the producers would ruin you guys..

Now THAT is a cool project. You realise you are getting to be a restorations channel but always good content bringing lovely old cars back to life. Midgets were mega little cars back in the day. Dead simple and never let you down. Even with Lucas electrics. Looks like a dinged RH wing but they are available from British Heritage no worries. To be honest I would take the seats and carpets out, jet wash the interior then dry it out. Its a convertible they get wet!

Stumbled across this channel when the £200 focus came in my main page. Love this channel, great to watch someone with passion and has a great way of presenting and speaking to the viewer that’s makes you feel like you’re on the journey with you. Love the projects, have gone back watching all your old videos! Love to buy one of the cars you fix up later this year, you do an incredible and professional job! Literally sat for hours watching the old videos 😂 also never considered an auction so was great to see how it all works with your videos! I’m off to an auction now on Monday, not to buy, but just to see what it’s like all because of your videos! good work, can’t wait for more, loving this channel!!

Looks 100% original, not even an after-market steering wheel. I can't remember the last time I saw an original MG grille that was that straight and free of dents. That barn must also have been pretty free of ambient damp, judging by the solid-looking sills, door bottoms, etc. Terrific find.

Subscribed, can't wait to see the car minus the 30 years of dust. I have a 69 and your 65 looks in fair shape from what I can tell looking thru the layers of dust.
