How is the flip front holding up? I'm considering doing this to my vw squareback but lifting from the original back bonnet hinges

It had to come off this year. But going back on next year. Worth doing for the weight saving

Did you use the radiator cowl and splash guards with the fibreglass front end?

Doesn't removing the front bodywork affect the torsional strength of the chassis? No concerns?

No, the wings and front panel are bolted on with only a few bolts offering little strength. The strength is in the chassis rails and the footwell panels. The weight saving is well worth it

Where did you find the brackets for the flip in the front? What company makes/sells them?

Mine came from Peter May engineering, but to honest it would be fairly easy to make yourself with some plate steel, 10mm threaded bar and a tube to suit. A couple of hours with the angle grinder and drill + welder is all you need. The positioning pretty much sorts itself out once you offer up the front end to the car and the bracket pivot point is up against the chassis legs about 2/3 up from the bottom of the leg. Hope that helps
