@michaelanderson3771Ай бұрын
Full electric has a place in mining but these shitboxes won't see that application as quality has to be there. 50% of way. A long way to go to get there but in time they might. Great idea at half the cost. Just do not expect it to last.

They are only useful for hitting you net zero business targets. I have seen a few large construction and grounds maintenance companies buying these only to get green grants from the UK government. Looking at these trucks up close you realise that if you do any off road excursions either the exposed wiring will fail or the motor units will be damaged due to there low slung location on the axles.

MG seem to be buying market share as they have done in the UK. Huge discounts to buy share. However the reliability issues and less than ideal quality control plague the new oweners accordin to the 2024 reliability survey. Cheap and chearfull all the way until it breaks. Then good luck getting warranty support. According to What Car 33% of owners had to cough up some cash for repairs not fixed under warranty. The old wear and tear escape.
@benjaminmaxwell8732Ай бұрын
Well John, if these utes are anything like their suvs, then they are going to be borderline dangerous. We are driving a mg zs around Tasmania at the moment for a holiday. Worst car I've ever driven. It almost stalls, when it is stopped on a hill. The steering is floaty like a boat, actually that's being mean( my plate boat does indeed steer better). It also has a horrible throttle response, sometimes it takes off wildly, and other times, you can have your foot to the floor and get no response. On top of all of those things, it runs rough when it idles as if it's struggling to keep the engine on(like an old 2 stroke motor). Finally, it crabs on full lock, and the seats hurt your lower back. It does have a good stereo, so one good point there. Chinese cars are and I think, always will be utter junk(personal opinion).

We have the MG4 77 - best car I’ve driven, love it as our runaround. As for the petrol ZS - agree with you. Biggest junk pile POS on the planet. It’s a shame because this specific pile of crap will not do their fantastic MG4 justice. I hire a lot of vehicles and refuse to take the ZS. I was at Sydney airport recently and the rep (after I refused to take it), said the company has to address how bad the ZS is. He said any regular clients will not take them and new clients come back and say it’s a POS. I wouldn’t be surprised if MG dropped their petrol range as it’s killing their brand and for good reason. Best they drop it and focus on their EV’s. As for the 4wd - I think I’ll stick to our Jeep HEMI and little Jimny for reliabilty when heading out on our dingo piss creek adventures.

Here in Thailand I watch the stock going through the 3 main auction groups and across the board Mediocre Garage vehicles represent a far bigger share than they should. You would expect Toyota and Isuzu...and to a lesser extent Ford and Nissan to represent the majority when you consider new vehicle sales but MG are up there too out shining Mazda and Mitsubishi. MG Sedans or pickups don't go for decent prices considering the low km and being 21 to 24 models. Considering 95% or more are under finance of 60 monthly payments why so many of new models getting auctioned? I think I will stick to Mitsubishi and leave the mug punters to buy MG...or LDV!

What a fabulous trip, but in reality these pieces of raw shit could not do that trip and the call to the dealer for warranty repairs would worth filming- “ where did you say it is, Oh, that’s outside of our warranty - we only cover cars still on concrete” Perhaps they could give one to Russell Coight to do a test run as I doubt they would give one to that bastard journalist reject John Cadogen Lucky for you John!
