I find it funny that Spaniards called Pre-colonial Filipinos pirates, Moro pirates, Chinese pirates and Japanese Pirates while they call themselves the expeditioners hahaha

@HeyG_3 жыл бұрын
They have that right to call themselves that since they operated under the government of Spain. There is already a term for what we call them during that time and that they were invaders. If you want to look for Spanish pirates then they exist in the Americas/Caribbean.

Find the book, "The Pirate Wind: Tales of the Sea-Robbers of Malaya" By Owen Rutter. I'm tired of hearing about the lame pirates of the Caribbean. They don't hold a candle to us.

Galing nitong topic!

I love your videos its super educational and out of the normal history classes we've gone thru DepEd should include real history lessons like these for the future generation its soooo much better :D Kirby something lang medyo nalito ako Piratang Samurai = 70% from fujian (Chinese) 20% ryukyu (Japanese) 10% barbarian? bakit piratang hapon tawag sa kanila? hindi ba majority ay Chinese? 😂 and so... Japanese brought Christianity 1st to the Philippines? not Spaniards? and sino ba talaga si LIMAHONG? Mind blowing lol 🙃

As long as DepEd is ran by Liberal Party schmucks that wont happen. Everything before 1941 is a prelude to the rise of the political dynasies and the drama of Marcos vs Aquino

Just to share another about Bicolano ancestors, another interesting story that is not much known is about the history behind the Fluvial parade of Feast of Penafrancia held in the river. Basically, it is related to a conflict between the Spaniards and an ethnic group residing in Mt. Isarog the Spaniards called "Cimarrones" or wild people but are devoted to Our Lady of Penafrancia.

Damo nga salamat that means thank you very much for being one of the sources of knowing our roots and identity as a people. Maraming salamat Kirby for these videos! Back in college I read some writings (Boxer Codex) about the relation of pre-colonial Cambodia and Philippine islands and a few hints from a cultural anthropology professor; and that made me frustrated because I never heard about those. It unfolded a whole new world map for me and I don't know where to start tracing the stories. It's also frustrating that primary education here in the Philippines is not history oriented. Your videos help me stroll these new paths.
