MGB Fuel Tank Vent line - Clogged in Three places

as clogged as this thing was I count myself lucky that the fuel lines were even passable. It was a big deal though because when it gets hot, or you run the car for a while, it would expand or shrink the tank, and affect the Fuel pump

nice work .... but why not just replace with a good rubber tubing?

I imagine the design was intended to be overly safe as the line traverses under the car where road hazards and heat might tear a rubber line.
