Lovely looking GT! I do really like the original steel wheels on them. A month ago here in OZ I bought an early 67 GT in Sandy Beige (GT only colour) on chrome wires. It has a period Tudor Webasto sunroof, black leather with white piping to interior & new carpets. It has a mild cam in a rebuilt engine and a close ratio gearbox with Overdrive. I OWNED THIS VERY CAR IN THE 1980s. I purchasing it in 1984 and sold it in 1988 - it is now back in my ownership after 36 years. I found it purely by chance on an online car sales site. Initially I thought it looked like my old MG due to the colour, but when I saw the detail photos I realised it was my old GT! What chance in that it has survived in that time, accidents, rust, neglect etc. It is still in excellent condition, testament to is owners post me and retains 90% percent of its original paint when I had it - and it's still rust free which is a blessing here.

I also own a 1973 roadster and like you I love it. These cars are so much fun and easy to fix. Mine costs just £2 a week to insure and as you say, no tax or MOT. What’s not to like

I love the way you've found an original steering wheel for this car - so many classic car owners tart up interiors with some tacky aftermarket wooden wheel. I also like the original steel road wheels with chrome hubcaps - those are quite rare these days as a lot of owners convert to wire wheels, which I believe were an option, (so fair enough).

Thanks for your kind comments, as I agree!! The chrome hub caps do set the car apart as a mark one mgb

What a lovely example. I am no marque expert, but that one just looks “right”.

I think that you mean the correct side of the road, after all the first USA Presidential car was right hand drive before you changed, we on the other hand did not.

@@IconicBrands123 Am recently retired after working overseas for 20 years. Thinking about buying an MGB GT now I’d have time to enjoy it and keep on top of the maintenance etc. Cheers.
