Fun Fact: That's just a rumor. Pop music in 2007 would have been an RnB collaboration with Beyonce, Fergie, etc. And Rock Pop still had the Nickleback sound. This song was made for a retro feel and wasn't milked to death yet, it was fairly fresh for the time.

When I was 8 years old, my mom had this video on a mp3 player. My native language is german so I didn´t understand what they sang. I was looking for this song since 2010 because it got me flashbacks somehow. @johnnyscanadianlifestyle82853 жыл бұрын
I had to think about that but its true. Ancient: simple drum pattern, probably the most simple, electric guitar from the 70s, synth from the 80s, not too knowledgable on 90s mainstream pop, vague memory of 2000s mainstream (fergie, outkast, black eyed peas) but from those 2 decades I feel like they probably took the technological advancements in music that made it sound modern as well. MGMT has that signature echo to their falsetto harmonies that make them sound retro yet majestic. They also use a blend of synthesizers, keyboards, flutes, harps, & rhythmic drum patterns to give them a unique sound. They bounce between space-age, to aboriginal, to 80's synth-pop effortlessly. 🎹📡🎶⏳️🌊
