I swear those of us born in the late 80s and early 90s lived through some of the absolute greatest eras of music in our youths. From 90s alternative, to punk rock, to grunge, to 90s-early 2000s hip hop, to new age hippy music.

Man, this song came out back in 2007 and I was 17 years old at the time. I remember seeing this video on MTV almost every morning and not appreciate how awesome this song was/is. Now when I hear it, it take me back to the times when life wasn't too hard. It's true when older people tell you to cherish your youth, because you will miss it.

When I was 8 years old, my mom had this video on a mp3 player. My native language is german so I didn´t understand what they sang. I was looking for this song since 2010 because it got me flashbacks somehow. I didn´t know anything where I could look for except the fact that I knew there was a moon, it was dark and that one of the singers looks like Frodo from the lord of the rings. And now I finally found it.

Fun Fact: That's just a rumor. Pop music in 2007 would have been an RnB collaboration with Beyonce, Fergie, etc. And Rock Pop still had the Nickleback sound. This song was made for a retro feel and wasn't milked to death yet, it was fairly fresh for the time.

@johnnyscanadianlifestyle8285
@johnnyscanadianlifestyle8285 3 жыл бұрын
I had to think about that but its true. Ancient: simple drum pattern, probably the most simple, electric guitar from the 70s, synth from the 80s, not too knowledgable on 90s mainstream pop, vague memory of 2000s mainstream (fergie, outkast, black eyed peas) but from those 2 decades I feel like they probably took the technological advancements in music that made it sound modern as well. Thats just my take on it though.

MGMT has that signature echo to their falsetto harmonies that make them sound retro yet majestic. I was like 17-18 when this was released, skating and smoking weed with "cool" friends. Nostalgia rush. Still remember walking in my mates garage hearing this for the first time after a 2 hour mission to get weed and choppin up a fat bowl.

All along the Western front People line up to receive She got the power in her hand To shock you like you won't believe Saw her in the Amazon With the voltage running through her skin Standing there with nothing on She gonna teach me how to swim [Chorus] I said, "Ooh, girl! Shock me like an electric eel Baby girl Turn me on with your electric feel" I said, "Ooh, girl! Shock me like an electric eel Baby girl Turn me on with your electric feel" [Verse 2] All along the Eastern shore Put your circuits in the sea This is what the world is for Making electricity You can feel it in your mind Oh, you can do it all the time Plug it in, change the world You are my electric girl [Chorus] I said, "Ooh, girl! Shock me like an electric eel Baby girl Turn me on with your electric feel" I said, "Ooh, girl! Shock me like an electric eel Baby girl Turn me on with your electric feel" [Outro] Do what you feel now! Electric feel now Do what you feel now! Electric feel now Do what you feel now! Electric feel now Do what you feel now! Electric feel now Do what you feel now!

no, melodramatic babies "hate life". Our society puts too much emphasis on the weak minded children who feel sorry for themselves, but this only feeds their self pity. You know who hated life? Dylan Klebold, one half of the two fine men that shot up Columbine HS. Just sayin' xD

i never said that all people who hate life are mass shooters, i made a joke, to which Elite SAO responded that he "shoots up schools", then you came along and told me to shut the fuck up for cracking a slightly offensive joke on the internet? doesn't make you sound like much of a intelligent human being now does it?

@Jordan Carreira Big fan of the Expendables and the like I imagine? The first season was what they call character building and plot building. If not for the exact way they did season 1 it wouldn't have been half the legend it became. It's why all the following seasons except the last were the best show there's ever been. Who roots for Daenarys if you dont see how her brother treats her and how meek she is? If you dont fully appreciate LoR or GoT you either dont understand, aren't really paying attention or have no idea what an amazing production looks like. Or maybe you just grew up online and are used to being stimulated by one thing after another without ever having to do anything for it. Therefore anything that's not adrenaline packed consistently doesn't keep your attention and your thinking about all the other things you could be doing by yourself online. You dont have to love them but if ya know a damn thing you know how well done they were.
