There's something really touching about seeing MGMT go through so many periods of cynicism towards the music industry and world to coming out with such a pleasant song about appreciating the friendship you've carried through it all. Its crazy thinking back to early January 2008 when I drove to Austin Tx to see them play and was the day they physically released Oracular Spectacular. I remember Andrew gave a shout out to Heath Ledger before they started playing cuz he unfortunately passed away that same day. But they were just blowing up and played the best show ever. I had never seen or heard anything quite like that and when Congratulations came out, I knew they were the real deal. They've enriched so many lives and gave such a contribution to music in a time where there's not a whole lot to be inspired by. by far their best work on the album. simple yet powerful in messaging and melancholic. don't get me wrong, the other tracks are fantastic, but they explore more complexities in love and self-consciousness that have often been overdone in other songs. this touches a topic that is never really explored much: friendship. their friendship.

Absolute masterpiece song, ive listened so many times and its never stops making me feel emotional. I wanna get a tattoo that says "i understand your hesitation", that line makes me crumble. Its like being given a hug. Absolutely stunning song

For anyone who is interested, I figured out the guitar chords... I think: F# - B - C# - B for the verses then D#m - G#m - B - C# - Bm then back to F# Played along acoustically and it sounds right, as far I can tell, at least.
