I used to work for MGP and the reason why it’s expensive is because the licenses the company has to pay to manufacturers. Us employees, would get 25% discount if we wanted to buy a set. For those who are wondering what position I was, I was the one using a laser cutter machine to get the shape of the caliper from sheets of aluminum.

I was wondering why some cheap 6061 sheet aluminum would cost so much? I didn't even think about the fact that they're licensing the name and logo to put on the calipers. I haven't looked into it but can't they just make unbranded caliper covers for way less? That's what I would want.

Good video man you nailed it.. I personally think they look great... For a daily there is no need for 1500 big brake kits that look like shit dirty and nasty after 2 weeks.. these solve that problem..

Your front calipers didn’t look too bad. That price tag on those covers is kinda steep. I’m thinking with a pattern and a few empty coke cans I could duplicate. Seriously tho, I been debating and I’m leaning toward painting with extra clear. Your paint job didn’t look bad at all

I have basically the same Honda in this vid. I know this video is a couple of years old. But I wanted to ask if the car still has the covers? if so, how are they holding up? And, I'm assuming you needed a brake job since the installation. Did you take the car in for brakes, and the mechanic removed the covers and reinstalled? I'm on the fence on buying the covers. The cover has nothing to do with the brakes. Its just a cover. And it is still as good as new. And as for the brakes, I haven’t change it yet. Thanks

Levi MGP (MGP Caliper Covers) Oct 1, 2021, 1:14 PM PDT In order to align the covers properly on a vehicle's caliper to meet the mounting points you can push or pull the welded arms closer to each other or away from each other as required. Each arm is welded at the front plate but the rest of the arm is free to adjust without snapping. The arms are made of aluminum so they will take a stretch, see image attached for reference, thank you! Can you send us a picture that shows the incorrect fitment.

It can’t be too much. It isn’t hard to do yourself. All you have to do is know how to use a jack stand and how to take off and properly put back on a tire. ( torque wrench will be good for putting the tire back on to ensure your tightening it enough)

So far...Nope! Not worth the aggravation! Mine are still in the boxes (Yes! Boxes...I have two vehicles)! They don't fit right on each car. They were customs so they won't take them back! $600 worth of MGP covers and they are still in the boxes! Sweet!

They look nice, but bro, that's a rip-off! I worked in a sheet metal factory for years. 6061 aluminum is good, but you're holding well under a hundred dollars worth in your hands. 2024 aluminum is the high quality, aerospace grade stuff. Once you have the press molds made it's cheap and easy to make tons of those and any leftover scraps of that 6061 aluminum are sold back to recycling so you hardly lose any money. Like I said I think they look nice but a smarter idea might be to figure out what they're painted with and just use that high quality paint for your calipers so they stay clean.

I just bought a set for my TT ..they are powder coated..or at least they say they are. You're probably right..bit pricey..but I got a 20% off coupon and did the basic ones..if you want cool logo or fancy color..they start pushing the $250 ..that I wouldn't spend for them..I would do epoxy on my calipers..or get some brembo's..
