You’re trying to shoot the guard south and stay as far away from the projector light as possible without bumping a guard. If you either miss the shot in the guard south, get too close to the projector light, or bump a guard, it’s game over. There I think I got too close to the light trying to shoot the guard

I still think it kinda sucked when it came to choking them out... since if you pressed O 2 more times accidentally you could kill the guard

Maybe, but the pressure sensitivity mechanics aged badly in both games, in 3 specially, because you can accidentally slit the guards throat if you're not using the original DS2 or DS3 by trying to press rapidly. I'm so glad they got rid of this for the next games, it's my only gripe with 2 and 3 tho.

@@GianV.Valois only reason I immediately stopped emulating MGS3 on pcsx2 and instead just copped the HD Collection. 2 was somehow fine but 3 was a nightmare with the button presses.

I got MGS collection VOL1 and tried to get the highest rank on all of them (never did before), I completed MGS2 on hard then tried a Big Boss run on EXTREME....... took me 3 days but I did it, it was the hardest to do but it feel so great when I did, with more practice I could have done better tho.

On the european and UK versions of the game on ps2, there was a even harder mode after extreme. It was called EUROPEAN EXTREME. It may be playable still with some mod.

@@aprev039 Back in the days I didn't owned that many games so it's not about patience but about challenges and nothing else to do, well I still love a challenge and I'm a hardcore player but it's ok If you want to enjoy a game the way you want to. It did take me a long time to beat the game in E.E, when I played MGS3 on the highest difficulty I was expecting such hell but nope, aside escaping the prison, that was BS.

@@DarkOrderSolDjangoEE Olga isnt too bad, for her fight, NEVER shoot her when shes mid combo of one herself, she ALWAYS snaps to you no matter what. After the second/third part starts, and she fiddles with the light etc, the left side has the two boxes stacked up. To the right of them is that small gap, with the other tall thing in front Theres a small spot you can stand where she wont be able to hit you, and youll be able to JUUUSSSTT get the barrel around the corner so you can hit her (and the times she’ll have her back against the blanket stack thing, and then when shes tossing nades, you can quickly left peek when shes tossing one, and just keep running forward and back for the nades. But since you’re right peeking her right peek, the only time she can go for shots, she should always miss you. (I always stand at the very corner of the boxes, but she can still get you on the shoulder sadly if you’re not careful.) The only time it gets harder, is when she pushes forward, but most of the time just pushing all the way left is safe enough. But yeah, her and fatman ended my attempts of e extreme first lol. Got through it in 19 hours and hundreds of retries 😂

Don't they drop instantly if you do the jump out auto aim shooting in the scripted tanker alert section? I mean at the end of the fight when they start aggressively striding past the boxes. Regardless of where the dart hits.

only on the very easy difficulty since every guard is a 1 hit drop. pop out auto aim shots won't work on anything higher

@@baradaniel6177 Yes, L1 is what is actually meant to be used in MGS2. Holding X while aiming with square was the only option in MGS1 afaik.
