Does an epoxy ramp completely take the place of a winding check in front of the reel seat? Can you see down under the front of the reel that way? I am planning on using the aero in my first build, just trying to get my design down. Your videos have become my go to source of info and the only reason im going into my first build with any sort of confidence. Thank you so much for the incredible content!

Yes, it does take the place of the winding check. No, you can see under the reel seat. Thanks for watching!

That Rx6 SP840, 841, 842, and 843 have been great rod for me. Recently finished a bfs rod on the 840. Very fun rod. The 842 and 843 have made some very good, very durable onshore casting rods for me.

If you were to do a decorative inlay between the butt and the grip would you do it before or after you glue the 2 components on?
@fdxcustomrods2 ай бұрын
I do them both ways but mostly after the grips are installed.

How do you establish the spacing between the rear grip and the front grip? Or how do you establish where the reel seat is best placed?
@mannymartinez15533 ай бұрын
I meant how do you establish the distance between the fighting butt and the rear grip? And how do you establish where the reel seat is set?
@fdxcustomrods3 ай бұрын
The reel seat position is determined by technique and personal preference. The reel seat position sets your rear grip, and butt grip is at the butt of the rod.

@@fdxcustomrods thanks for the response. Also from where to I establish the distance of the stripping main guide. From middle of reel seat or down from tip of the blank?

What reel seat is that?

The Aero CCT from American Tackle.

You give a model number for the blank but you don't say what company. Not much help with just blank model number.

The 843 -844 nomenclature is pretty common among most blank manufacturers. It refers to power and action. The particular ones I used in this build are Rainshadows and are linked below. voodoorods.com/products/rainshadow-7-popping-rod-blank---sp844
