It needs more MV buffs to be more popular. Those in SB are nice but it's nowhere near as buffed as it was in GU for instance.

@@supanjibobu372 Of course I use other weapons & experimented with the new weapons that have been added over the years but I always rely on the Lance or Gunlance as my main weapon of choice for the harder hunts.

As a parry lance main it's a shame that damage is so heavily tied to wirebug stuff. They should be utility/situations uses IMO. Spamming ST (to me at least) feels mindless. I'm glad they made the cross counter more powerful though, actually getting good times compared to base rise. Instead of making parry frames longer they should have either kept them or shortened them and just increased the damage much more to give lance a purely skill based playstyle based off risk/reward. Impressive time.

yeah cross counter is really powerfull now, with an unoptimized mr1 lance set, my cross counter on a monster like khezu did nearly 800 damage on the head. pretty good number if you ask me.

@@skipidy0dan205 if anything it takes more skill to land the counter in spiral thrust and all 3 hits than anything else in lance kit .. well maybe actually getting anchor rage to hit the monster more than 50% of the time (I find more use out of sheathing retreat and twin vine than anchor rage)

@@tidoo3123 interesting I find anchor rage very useful, even if it doesn't hit, the buff alone makes it worth it in my eyes, especially since the buff lasts twice as long now, you can easily have permanent up time for the buff

Out of curiosity, have you tried this matchup without Spiral Thrust spamming? I'm just curious to know how much longer it would take to beat Espinas (or any other monster where the matchup favors Spiral Thrust spamming) without using Spiral Thrust spamming. Does it take 2, 3, 4 minutes longer? Is a non-Spiral Thrust playstyle really that uncompetitive that Lance speedrunners would rather continue this same spammy meta from Rise rather than try a more purely Anchor Rage-oriented playstyle? I mean, congrats on your 3 minute clear of Espinas here. I'm not shitting on you. It's just sad that regardless of the buffs Lance received, the meta is still Spiral Thrust spam for seemingly nearly every matchup.

I think it's a bit of an hassle to stack them, it takes a lot of time to only enjoy it a few seconds, sadly I would love to use Anchor rage more though !

Too much downtime between swapping and unreliable counter stacking from monsters more than likely. I liked the idea of then stacking but repeatedly switching takes away a lot of up time.

Ok so now my character is constantly surrounded by a qurio draining his health, the one qurio then become two then three but I can't seem to get rid of it. My intention was to ask if anyone knew how to get rid of them but as I was writing this it occurred to me that it started happening after I created the archdemon armor... need to test this tho but if true then it sucks after all the grinding I did it to finally get it 😫
