small tip: bind the special attack button to a separate key. for CB it's the morph attack and it will produce the guard point every time. doing the button combo is tricky since in 4U if you press guard even a frame earlier you won't get it. I did that and now I can counter everything with ease.

Yeah, when I fought Dalamadur whenever I started a new playthrough of mh4u, he would always be the god damn wall of reaching G rank. Quite literally, it takes a lot of execution just to keep shredding through his health bar solo and even then it’s still takes a few to several tries. First time I ever fought I died about 80-ish times to the point I snapped and went online just to put this serpent out of existence. I honestly think that Dalamadur is intentionally suppose to be a multiplayer siege fight. It’s kinda a shame for me personally because he is a really cool fucking monster.

I love MH4U but I must admit that even i didn't really understand the dalamadur fight... I kinda just followed the markers & hit what looked like weak spots & the fight eventually ended. Only fought him to once to advance the story.

TIL that SAED existed in 4U. Yes, I played it before World, right before it came out, in fact. Up to HR 5* rank, even. I even used charge blade to beat up high rank Pink Rathian with it, but I didn’t know SAED existed until I saw people use it in World. Yes, I feel dumb. 😅 But, hey, maybe this guy is a boring fight, but it’s a giant snake! 🐍. I want fun fights with giant snakes, insects and spiders in Wilds. Here’s hoping. 🤞. (Good video, of course. 👍🏾)

The problem with this fight is that it's a sum of knowledge checks. AKA not climbing on the dala at the beginning of the quest since it always moves, first jump attack will always get a down, not using hammer basically, etc. In the end the fight is either janky when you don't know or too choregraphed if you know the rules. G-rank boss is way better since it works more like a usual monster

I have always considered Dalamadur to be the best fight against giant monsters, it was so difficult to do that in later installments, not even Zorah Magnaros managed to replicate Dalamadur even by placing that little sequence to remove the pimples from his back.

I think Gogmazios is the best giant monster for the fact that it follows the rules of regular monsters: you can mount it, you can poison/paralyse it, stun it, etc.
