Thanks for the great content as always. No fluff, just pure domination of the weights.

Hi John, do you still work as a chemist? How difficult was it for you to balance your degree and powerlifting? -Aspiring powerlifter and Biochemistry student
@MHB3013 күн бұрын
Not really any more. I do some contract work for the company I used to work for, but it doesn't really involve chemistry anymore. I may do a video in the future about it. It was definitely tough to balance the two, during my later years of college. Just work your deloads around busier weeks.

John, you’ve said you like dips but they jack up your shoulders. Have you ever thought about working on shoulder mobility and trying Streetlifting? Maybe going for WR’s? It’s weighted pull-up + dip + squat All the best guys are around your bodyweight but you’re consistently much stronger on squat and bench
@MHB3013 күн бұрын
I think if I was younger I would be more interested in it. I used to be really into pull-ups and could do close to 60 in middle school. Now, I'd be lucky to get 20 lol.

Do agree with going 90 or 135 for a proper squat?

Hey John, i noticed you were using the roller a bit on your knee. Is that to help with any current knee issues you're having? I've been getting a sharp pain in my left knee when squatting lately and wondering if this might help.

Have you looked into any peptides for your shoulder or are you thinking you will be fine without them?

How often do you deload and for how long? Also how you know when it’s time to deload?
@kristiangarrett1110 күн бұрын
For reference I’m 5’9 170 and can bench 240 squat 320 and deadlift 380. I can feel when my cns is begging for a break and it usually is around the time I feel weak no matter how much I eat sleep or hydrate. I normally deload for a week. It works for me and I’m not a professional nor do I lift insane weights

How's working with the Cerberus Squat Bar.. would you recommend ? Much respect
@MHB3012 күн бұрын
It’s been fine so far. The weight isn’t heavy enough for the bar to matter to me, yet. I think, once I get around 760, the whip may become a factor.
