The real drawback to using guides to figure out your warframe builds, is that you will just copy someone else but have no REAL comprehension of what those mods are actually doing. That said, I'm absolutely not a pro, though, and I'll likely never come up with an absolute top-tier myself - still, the trial and error is still pretty interesting - and it isn't un-fun. Especially when you actually make something that rocks.

I can help you with that… You use other people’s build and the way you play will automatically register making you change mods because you want to match your own play style. I do this with every game that has this similar feature. While doing this, you will actually start to read the mods. For example, if you feel like you are using too much energy, maybe add some more mods that can assist that. This way of thinking makes the game more enjoyable for me and I hope this helps.

@@l3luel3xus a lot of people don’t have an easy time just jumping into the middle - the same reason most games start laughably easy - easing the player into things gives much better player retention. There are also people who won’t have a clue what to change due to not understanding the specific mechanics and what their damage is coming from - and a TON of folks will see the list of changes and it simply doesn’t translate from the paper into action without trying it all personally anyway. It’s just easier to learn from the beginning for a lotta people, is all I’m getting at. Wasn’t implying a player COULDN’T just jump in from the middle - it’s just harder for many.

I hard disagree with your mention of Secondaries purely as status primers. That's what Companions are for, you've even said in some of your other videos to use a Vulpaphyla for Viral spreads. Have you not seen what the Helstrum robotic weapon can do? If you use the Secondary as a primer, that means you have to NOT be using your main damage weapon and spend some time priming enemies first. Every second your high-damage weapon is not firing, your overall DPS and mission completion time/chances are getting worse. Why not have a good companion automatically prime for you, so you can have your damage weapon firing as much as possible? Even the absolute best, highest-damage possible Companion build of any kind still has abject piss damage output compared to a WIDE spread of the Primaries and several Secondaries, so offload the priming job to the companion and focus your three weapons for three distinct situations. One wide-AoE room-clearer, one heavy single-target DPS weapon and one heavy Bleed weapon for extreme armor/damage attenuation will let you hit the ground running on any mission almost without having to pre-prep.

You talk about status primer and how to build one but didnt explain what the point of a status primer is or how it works? I'm confused, if theres no damage and youre building status effects what good does it do? Does the primary add more damage when you fire at something with status effects already on it? Even more confused now 😅

Adding status to an enemy works well with the melee mod Condition Overload, which increases your melee damage based on how many status effects are applied to your target. So say you have a secondary weapon than cant kill, but can spread status very easily. You would douse your target with status with your secondary, then lay into them with your melee to get the benefit of Condition Overload. There's also a rifle and pistol versions of CO that serve the same fucntion. (Galvanized Aptitude comes to mind)

Arcanes for weapons and galvanised mods will make everything almost base steel path viable. Slap on some Warframe buffs and even MK1 braton clears stuff. Or play defence strippers, Nyx bolts will make a level cap enemy feel like a sortie 3 enemy.

I love running the Paris prime with a guaranteed crit and high multiplier and high punch through. Then glance prime. Secondary doesn’t really matter. Then I’ll use mesa and get big damage fast with that for a pinch. Another one is the high status kuva Zarr with rhino and running his iron hide or whatever it’s called. Usually run the broken war with that cuz it’s insanely fast and high damage.

Something similar happened to me long ago, ultil i started caring more about multi-shot, it was a day-night difference in my dps, don't max serration for rifles, instead focus on multishot mods (split chamber and vigilante armaments are my go to) having almost double shots means that You have double crit and double status chance 🤓☝️

Does multishot at +90% do anything on a rifle? 1.9 bullets isn't 2, so I'm not sure if it's enough or another Multishot mod need to be added.

The multishot is a chance for the shot to come with another bullet ex 190% has a 90% chance to shoot 2 bullets in a single shot. If its 200%, its guaranteed 2 bullets per shot. 250% has a 50% chance for that shot to have 3 bullets, 2 if the 50% chance failed. Idk if those "multishot" bullets takes the same attributes as the main one (if this bullet crits or status, the multishots do) or the multishot are treated as different bullets (if the main one crits, the multishot may not)

You actually can use both arcane and base damage mod depending on if the weapon your using has multiplicative CO or additive CO. additive weapons should not use serration as it does not multiply your galvanized aptitudes damage, but if your weapon is multiplicative then you can use both serration, aptitude, and your arcane. If you wanna find out what CO your weapon has you can check online there should be a chart. Hope this clears things up 👍

I've been using the Tigris prime for a long time, right now without my mods maxed because I just got a primed mod I'm currently doing 156,000 damage a shot and it shoots two shells so in total I'm reaching a little over 300,000 but someone suggested that I use the Corinth prime instead, is it worth it?

Early on it's better to have multiple Mods partially maxed instead of dumping all your Endo into one ^^ About the Corinth Prime, the Tigris definitely does more damage but with just two rounds it will be problematic against bigger groups of enemies. That's where the Corinth performs much better ;)

If you're not going against level 9999 and your most "difficult" task Is netracell (level 200+) Use this preset: 1. Some additive damage mod 2. Crit chance mod 3. Crit damage mod 4. Multishot mod 5. Cold damage mod 6. Toxin damage mod 7. Hunter munitions 8. /Flex slot/ (heat damage, hammer shot, riven etc) Baaaam you know now how to mod 90% of the weapons to beat 99% of the game you will only struggle against bosses like eidolon/archon and for steelpath/netracell I recommend having a armor strip ability.

Fun fact, Valkyr's 4th ability lets you mod the claws but the damage of the claws with the mods also scales with the Ability Strength of the Warframe, meaning that you can build you Valk for Ability Strength and have more freedom to stick mods into the claws

it's a bit of a logic process, for valkyr for example, her ultimate ability takes out her claw melee weapon which is considered a melee weapon by the game, with that in mind if you check the ability you can see that it's affected by ability strength mods which increase the strength of her claws, therefore all the damage that you see in the claws when modding will be enhanced by the ability strength, therefore if you also attach things like arcanes that boost your ability strength per kill or enhance your melee weapon damage you'll get a perfectly synergized build @@laubowiebass

​@@laubowiebass Simply put, reading "damage" numbers in the arsenal. While modding a frame you can see the ability icons on the left side. Hover over the icon with your mouse to see it's stats. Then just put on any mod that increases ability range, efficiency, strength or duration (for some rare cases armor too) and see if any stat on the abilities got adjusted (usually indicated by a change of color, green for an increase, with my color settings). So first put only strength, then only range etc. on your frame to see directly in the arsenal what's getting impacted. For Valkyr you will see a damage increase for her 4th ability if you put on ability strength. Observing the damage ingame is pretty difficult since health, shield and armor can vary from enemy to enemy. That's why you mostly test stuff in the Simulacrum (you can get the key from Cephalon Simaris on a relay for 50k standing with his syndicate) as you can choose your enemy and won't fail a mission if you die.

Most weapons have a standard 6 sec status duration its an underrated stat if used on a high end crit & crit dmg stat ch & stat dur hybrid stacked with steel path arcanes & ability synergies u wil literally destroy enemies with insanely lengthened high end dmg outputs and dmg per sec add ons. If a weap has a precise hybrid chance style u can roll a riven for crit dmg & stat dur & element. Minus zoom.... Pair this with an incarnon weap & the latest archon shards etc And any weap & warframe & companion synergy wil nuke the stuff easily. Also try to mod & synergize your stuff for best bonus dmg faction type...+ Add if able faction type bonus dmg + roar has universal dmg bonus u wil nuke everything as if its lvl.1"s 🤣

You forgot to talk about Hunter munitions (Internal bleeding in some cases) that are one of the most used mod in viral/slash builds. PS In my opinion secondary are not only good when used as a primer, but in many cases are good enough to make it your main source of damage.

If step one is to use a base damage multiplier mod, why isn't it important to have something with a decently high base damage that the multiplier will actually do a lot with?

It is all about the damage calculation. You get the 90% damage of a Serration ontop of any elemental damage mod, as they take the buffed weapon damage into account to add the elemental damage. Or anything crit related will also benefit from atleast 1 base damage mod. Thats why the faction damage mods are actually strong, their 50%dmg buff is applied at the end of the calculation.

If I understand your question correctly it is that the mods can increase the gun's starting base damage by 250% (if I recall serration's bonus correctly) turning the base damage used by all future damage calculations from say 10(stock base) to 35(modded base). As the guy above said this modded base is then taken as the base for your elemental damage bonuses increasing your damage even further. However in general its always best practice to use just one base damage mod for that starting boost as all further base damage mods will only multiply the stock damage ignoring any base damage boosts already present. To explain it with numbers two 250% boosts would go 10 to 60 not 10 to 88. Now if you're asking why not just use a weapon that can do lets say 100 damage at base instead of 50 it would likely be because all weapons perform differently. Like how a rocket launcher will do more damage than a rifle but uses different ammo and has a lower fire rate and probably longer reload. Also, most weapons in a family perform similar to each other with differences in "feel" such as ammo, fire rate, and reload speed being the biggest differences. The only real upgrades to a weapon's damage specifically would be the small increase a prime or faction version a weapon would get (i think its usually 10 damage or so for a prime). In which case most people do usually prefer to use that version as it is the same weapon with at best slightly better performance or a new feature like the kuva/tenet weapons have. TLDR: As a rule of thumb put on one mod that increases base damage as extra base damage mods will use the guns starting base damage as a reference while all other damage mods will reference the upgraded base damage.

actually it depends because if you need an armor strip you should subsume something with armor strip like idk styanax or nekros. if you don't need armor strip and you don't want a specific subsume for the frame just go for something that will boost damage like wisp or mirage or rhino

Viral+Heat/Viral+Slash is the convenient way of dealing good damage because it doesn't require a Primer. Many people love that. It works till SP lvl 200-300ish but beyond that you'll have to deal the Viral and other status effects with a separate weapon/companion and your main weapon will only go into Slash. That's objectively stronger. Gas is not meta anymore. Some time ago it used to bypass shields just like toxin. Now it doesn't do that anymore.

Yeah it all comes down to how the damage multipliers work. You can build too much of any of them which will result in diminishing returns. That is because for example when you add more base damage to a weapon it will be added onto the existing base damage. But if you now take a different multiplier instead like Elemental damage that will instead be multiplied with the base damage after so you have way more damage. Status chance to status damage can be very complicated tho in general that depends on the damage type you need/want to apply or the status chance. Important to notice is: Status damage is not the same as the status proc. If we take slash for example: The slash damage type is good against flesh but bad against armored units. The status effect tho which is called bleed ignores the armor entirely and is very good against armor.

Do you mean the Galvanized Status Mods or the 60/60s? In general, if you need specific elements then better go for the 60/60s instead of the 90 Element Mods and the Status only Mods. In case you mean the Galvanized Status Mods then they're pretty much always the better option except maybe for Primers 😉
