Incredible run, makes Grimclaw look like a giant flow chart, lol. Totally borrowing your set, btw. I love GSs and would love another build to try. Current set is Quick Sheath, Crit Draw and Focus, but I think I can drop it since Quick Sheath is more or less just a quality of life skill and not super useful like Punishing Draw + Tremor Res.

How every attack KO damage ?and how he stand the roar without earplug?
@Deathtoallbutone4 жыл бұрын
The skill punish draw allows every draw attack to deal KO damage. Also Grimclaw's roar doesn't have much range, so if you positioned right then it won't stun you.

Is Crit+Punish Draw just better than any attack boosting skills for GS this game? Why not Crit Boost instead?
@Deathtoallbutone8 жыл бұрын
If I can add both critboost and tremor res, it would be ideal. Also since the regular Tigrex is mostly RNG, I highly recommend punishdraw since you get free 2-3 lv 3 charge. (If you can KO it twice that makes 6 extra hits)

So is the best way to get him to turn around and face you to be beside his claw? Whenever I fight him he just starts the stomping attack rather than turning to face me, it gets really annoying.
@Deathtoallbutone7 жыл бұрын
This method is mostly for GS, so if you're using another weapon this method might not apply: Whenever he does his single bite, try to move from his front claw to his back leg. He will do the claw slam. If he does the moving stomping (I think the move is called rampage) try to stay next to his claw and he will do the claw slam into a recovery animation. Also for this move, if you stay still while he start rampaging, he will not be able to hit you unless you're right on his claw when he started that move.
@legoking12437 жыл бұрын
Alright, I appreciate the advice. I'm practicing deviants now so that when g-rank comes out then I could solo them. Group efforts are good but my experience online has not been too inviting.

Very good run :D It's kinda sad that with tremor res Grimclaw is easier than normal Tigrex.
@VernichtungsFussel8 жыл бұрын
how does he not get affected by the screaming? i mean at least at 3:02 he is definitly in range or does this game got disposable earplugs and i missed them entirely? or do you get i-frames at lions maw startup for some reason?
@Deathtoallbutone8 жыл бұрын
His roar range is a bit shorter if you go to either sides.
@VernichtungsFussel8 жыл бұрын
Ok, good to know. Does this apply to other monsters as well? Since i always have the feeling that those roars sometimes take half the area. Im like to take every tip and hint i can since i love Monster Hunter but i really struggle with most monsters.
@Deathtoallbutone8 жыл бұрын
Some monster's roar do have a larger area than others. Nargacuga's roar is very similar to the Tigrex roar in terms of range. If you don't like dealing with roars, try getting earplug (some monsters) or HG earplugs (all monsters) to negate the roars.
@VernichtungsFussel8 жыл бұрын
Im running with Adept LS and so far dont have a problem with roars. Its just that i want to try another weapon (and style) which will hopefully help me dealing with high rank monster when solo. But as far as i can see (Hi)earplugs take a lot of your skill points which a scrub like me needs very desperatly ^^"
@Deathtoallbutone8 жыл бұрын
Well most roars can be evaded without the use of evasion+, though to time that requires a lot of practice. I recommend practicing against Yian Garuga or Nargacuga as their roar is the easiest to dodge.

Can you teach me how to be a GS god? thx
@dumbfuckgnomeboy46438 жыл бұрын
I got some personal tips for GS. 1. Timing-You gotta understand the pattern of the monster's movements so you know when to charge, giving you that lv3 slash opportunity. 2. Hit And run-(this doesn't have to be all the time.) You would already know this, but gs unsheathed is slow af. So give the hits you can make, and sheath, then GTFO. 3. Protip.-PLAY ADEPT, BAYBEEEEE
@GoddamnILoveBison8 жыл бұрын
The Grimclaw portion was just flawless, I don't think that time can be beat. As for normal Tigrex, it's just pure luck, he seemed to give you decent RNG on his attacks though.

Seems pretty cheesy. Walking to the one place where the ai always turns its head speaks more to your exploiting the ai than skill in tackling the monster itself.
@Deathtoallbutone8 жыл бұрын
That is what speedrun is for every game. Also not all monsters can be exploited like this which makes fights a bit more interesting.
@364245672548 жыл бұрын
skill in tackling the monster IS "exploiting" the ai. That doesn't even apply only to monsters, if you're a boxer (or any other combat sport) your best bet is figuring how your opponents move and being one step ahead - except ofc in that case the intelligence is not artificial. You want to blame someone, blame game designers for making this particular monster too predictable.
@AntiKaratekid8 жыл бұрын
I don't agree. Though you can learn another boxer's patters, humans DON'T always respond the exact same way. If you keep jabbing at a certain point in his stance, the opponent may very well learn your pattern and adapt. AI in MH never adapts. It is still cheesy and not really skill.
@364245672548 жыл бұрын
AntiKaratekid it is true, humans adapt, but that's a problem with current gen AI, not the player. Which is why multiplayer games are a thing if you like that kind of competition. Still, to say it's "not really skill" is simply stupid: skill in a SINGLE player game (which is what solo runs are), once you are trained enough in game mechanics and reflexes to consistently do what you mean to do in any given situation (and good speedrunners are), ultimately comes down to figuring out the best strategy against the AI, all variables (equipment choice, use of environment and of enemy placement, enemy AI, triggers etc) included. It cannot be any other way, since it's you vs the ai. "Moral" or "style" judgments on strategy simply have no place in a speedrun: you can't NOT use the fastest strategy, else it isn't a speedrun. If speedrunning has too much repetitive action and too much min-maxing for your taste, it's okay to not like it, but it really is meaningless to criticize it for what it is. It's like going to a baseball match and complaining they're playing baseball.
