I wish there was explicit data on the effects of elemental crit. If it's the same from 4U, then that means a critical hit is 1.2x damage for GS, 1.3x for bowguns, 1.35x for bow, dual blades, and SNS (almost on par with crit boost!), and 1.25x for everything else.

Really well played. But I have a question on the skill 'weakness exploit'. As I checked, this skill only activates when you hit a body part which has 45 or more damage absorption. And for silverwind, the highest damage is 40 when you hit its head with a slash type weapon. Does this mean that weakness exploit is totally useless against silverwind?

What is the interaction (if any) between weakness exploit and elemental crit? When elemental crit was first introduced I understood it as elemental attacks can crit, and will do so in tandem with a raw crit. I might be wrong about that, so I was wondering if hitting a raw weakpoint would trigger elemental crit (even though there are pretty much no elemental hitzones 45 and above).

For anyone who doesn't want to read: The Kirin DB are just superior in damage without Sharpness +2 taken into account and with the same skills. And they don't need Sharpness +2 to begin with. With this set of skills they definitely should. Did some of the math once (for Thunder DB) with the sharpness multipliers from 4U and the Kirin DB have more total raw (before motion values and defenses) in their natural white than any other in their blue and, if there, white combined (without sharpness +1/2); if not, add the blue of the Kirin's. It were only approximations - because I had to guess how many strikes of any given sharpness there were - but the results were clearly in favour of the Kirin DB. Add to that their superior Thunder Damage, which greatly benefits from the multiplier on white over blue. The Astalos DB do have a bit of natural white and decent blue, but only the Kirin's white is about as much as both combined; with more blue afterwards. Thunder Attack +2 has a far greater impact on the Kirin DB, as one might expect, so it would come down to Affinity. Where the ridiculous base of the Krin DB trumps over the 20% more affinity of the Astalos'. With Elemental Crit taken into account (and the bonus dmg from 4U) Kirin DB at 20% Affinity have a corrected Thunder Attack of ~37 while the Astalos DB with 40% Affinity have ~29.6 (~30); before Thunder Attack +2 and Sharpness multiplier.

If you're playing DB, Elemental crit is infinitely more useful than crit boost, so yes.

Base dmg is nothing compared to elemental damage. Your average DB combo hit does like 20% the raw damage of each of your elemental hits. Elemental is so much better that the kirin blades with 160 raw are considered top tier DBs due to their insane 34 element. Oh and para isn't that useful if you're hunting solo, other weapons do status effects much better than DB If you're using the Khezu DB, they have split elements on each weapon. So you're only hitting for those elemental/status values on half your attacks, effectively halving both their values.

Why did you bring weakness exploit? kiranico shows that sw narga doesn't have a hitzone of 45 or above, which is required to trigger WE. 40 for cutting damage on the head.

DannyKnot aerial db are pretty bad at doing dps as once you mounted a monster, you can’t do devils dance which is your highest damaging attack. I prefer adept as you keep all your moves but the mounting attack iirc as well as having an adept evade that is an attack. Imo, it does the most dps as it still has devils dance + adept evade.

Yes, it's strange. Sometimes you can evade through attacks without triggering the adept evade. I think it's just about timing.

Tri Rain That's not actually what I meant. I know how adept evade works, but there seem to be s in the evasion move that don't trigger adept evade. Sometimes when I hit B a few frames to earl or to late, I roll through attacks without doing the special adept evade. Can't also did that a few times in the run.

Narga's hitboxes sometimes are so thin it's difficult to say were they start and finish during the animation. I have had similar occurences with normal narga when doing siderolls. As for the dual blades, i think that the post evade dashes don't count as legit dodges, i mean, they do have s but they don't trigger adept evades.

You don't necessarely ''sell'' what you don't need, cause there isn't really something you don't need in that game, every material you collect will be needed at some point, and yes, I mean even those darned jaggy stuff to even some ice glob stuck on a mammoth's legs, cause regardless of how rare an item is or isn't, you'll need it at some point to make a good equip or decoration, or even to combine them for items lol.

Yes but most of the time you need one or two rare things from a monster and have a lot of spare stuff that you dont need after killing it several times. Like farming chameleos for big elder dragon jewels. I had enough chameleos stuff to make every weapon + amor from him several times

I'm currently spamming the USJ event quest for the Starthingy set, mainly for collection purpuses, but the good thing is that with the leftovers I'll be able to make gammoth's and Glavenu's seths, although prob not enough for all of the HR sets like Ex, R, and S (If they do have R cause I don't remember unlocking those for the 2 of them), although I'll still have to keep the mats because well, better having than not having (kappa) and cause starfire dual blades will be the next in line soon.
