question related to exhaust: given the afflicted monster's mechanic, does exhaust to anything to them?

I think their Qurio state overrides the exhausted state, but it builds up stun on the head as expected and they are, indeed, exhausted.

This is a very old run, status dogs have been nerfed by 80% since then

As a noob i'd like to ask: why go full elemental when iirc flaming espinas has meh water hitzones? around 10-15 i believe. What would you say about hi water power phial SA since the raw hitzones are better? Or is elemental phial the way to achieve higher damage?

His head and chest are 30-25 water when enraged. Don't trust hunter notes.

@@auliasa6602 check kiranico, yeah hunter notes only shows unenraged hitzones but monster hitzones change when enraged. violet mizu ele hitzones suck tho. rajang has really good ice head hitzone in all states I believe, but kushala swax is just the best on rajang

Kage out of curiosity: why the almudron swaxe over the crab

His element hitzones are insane and almudron swax is really good, if crab swax had more element it could win The difference is minor, about 3% more damage with almudron on the head Crab does more damage to legs and chest, but most of the fight you're aiming head

@@Matt_Zoran I don't blame the game, but this amount of RNG with the qurio armor and charms made a lot of people cheat it in with max values and illegal values even. It's kind of sad, I wish the speedrun community would come together to set limits but they want to achieve what's "theoretically possible" but apparently theoretically possible means illegal augments and removing small monsters.. I used to use god charms for the "theoretically possible" argument but it's too much now If you want some builds, it's kinda hard to find normal ones in speedruns anymore :/ I personally use set builder because it saves a lot of headache

@@Kage02 couldn't have said it better. I do agree on charms. The amount of grind and the difference it made in base rise was immense considering the armour pieces and slots back then. It just put to many players at a disadventage on a speedrunninh perspective. Augmenting sets on the other hand is just a different kind of story. Removing wind res from silver los for example opens up so much more room that would never be possible with legit playstyles. I think capcom should've made around 30-50 set possible rolls. It would've drastically reduced the amount of grinding also would provide something to roll for. Much like with the safii weapons. Although unlikely you would eventually get what you need. Not like with the quirio system

Question, do you use modded augments and modded talismans, or is everything here just really REALLY lucky? Like considering my luck by getting a Rapid Morph 3 talisman with two 2 slots on it, honestly a RM 2 with Crit Eye isn't too far off, especially for people who do make a living off this type of thing.

I don't really make a living off of this, but yeah just a lot of grind gets you this kind of gear. I did mod my gear in the past but I don't do it anymore, because the leaderboard allows it. But the leaderboard allows illegal augments now and removing small monsters so I don't wanna engage with that and I just use what I get in game. I've had 3 attack 3 lv4 slots within the 1st weak of SB xD charms have gotten a lot more forgiving and people are occasionally getting god charms too I was okay with minimal modding but people are taking it way too far. I still mod some minimal things that just make the speedrun grind less gruesome, things like lowest HP and 100% dango activation

@@Kage02 Absolutely fair, and I can really agree! I think the rathalos piece with 3 crit eye and -3 windproof is one of the most egregious things around, even if it's ""technically possible"". Plus they did boost talisman luck so you can get higher numbers on skills, so the complaints are less egregious and god talismans are more forgiving (though I'd still like a little bit more predictability on the augment and charm systems as a whole. And low health + dango mods, even stuff like monster positions are 100% okay in my mind to mod because that's just some shitty rng that really doesn't add to anything Thanks for your thoughts and explanations, I really appreciate it!

@@dynomite9524 no worries, by the way 3 crit eye -3 windproof -12 defense is not possible, that's illegal augs. It's allowed by the leaderboard but it's not possible in the game lol so lame
