Thx for watching. I don’t normally use paper filters at all. I am actually thinking about a video about this subject. Most of the time I prefer Pullman over VST hence I used it for the test. The most honest answer to your question is- I don’t know. I have soo many baskets it would be tricky to compare each and every one. I tried to describe BEP flavours as much as I could so if you have vst yourself it should as least give you some clues.

for HE baskets, do you prefer beans roasted for espresso or filter?
@mycoffeeshow11110 ай бұрын
Interesting question. Do you roast yourself? For pour overs we tend to develop beans slightly differently but I won’t pretend to be an expert. Overall I don’t really look much into it, just try and taste. Some filter coffee would taste awful for espresso. Some are great and so on. I do know that I prefer lighter roasts for he baskets.

Do you need a to use a pick screen along with the bep basket or is it overkill for filtering and for the espresso shot and do you lose any body or flavor from sinc either supposed to have a mess filter in the basket already. @mycoffeeshow1112 ай бұрын

Do you think the BEP 2.0 filter basket is a good upgrade for beginners in the espresso hobby? I've had a Rocket Appartamento for a few months now and the standard baskets is not so nice or even, so I think there's still potential for flavor here (i can see it very well in your tests). I've read that some filter baskets are very difficult to adjust! But I want to avoid buying a technically better filter basket as a beginner and then setting it up becomes too difficult. it should remain simple enough for me...
@mycoffeeshow11110 ай бұрын
Very good question. First, check its measurements on their website to make sure it will fit in your portafilter. It should, but just in case. Basket like basket, you will be ok with it. You might need to grind slightly finer than for your stock basket. Can your grinder handle that? Otherwise, it is very cheap so you don’t risk much and it should make a significant change vs your old one. Will you like that change though - well you have to find out yourself.

I would have two question, my first one would be how easy is it to clean this filter ? Is it as easy as a regular filter, eaysier harder ? And my second question would be could we have a true face to face between wafo and this filter, accross different coffee? To see if this win was a fluke or if this realy compares to the wafo
@mycoffeeshow11110 ай бұрын
1. It takes few extra seconds to clean but not as tricky as with All in One basket. 2. I know what the results would be. Wafo would always give higher extraction and the flavour notes would be stronger. Depending on coffee, profile and time of extraction it would give more or less pleasant overall espresso. Just remember, there is a reason why Wafo makes many other baskets, to suit different coffee and so on but too expensive to buy them all.

@erikngomez10 ай бұрын
@@mycoffeeshow111 I meant a bigger deep dive vs the 20 seconds or so. I think your description is overall in line with what I'm seeing and I think that's due to the membrane being denser + much wider holes on the IMS.
