Not sure where you're failing, it should be pretty straight forward. Just input the helmbreak as you're as far back as posible in your foresight

How did you change the direction of the spirit slash combo at 4:24? I am playing through the base game, and I am locked in one direction with this combo. Does Iceborne allow you to change direction?

Hmm I'm almost certain that should work in base game already, it's limited to 40° ish to either side with each input you get to do just holding that direction- weird if it doesn't work for you.

Good run, u did it well! But, i have a question: why ur damage keep changing? Sometimes ur crits does 300/320 and sometimes its goes up to 400/420, in the same moveset, at the same part of Fatalis (head).

I'm not sure which situation you're exactly talkling about but the numbers you said sound like headbreak punish in p1, which the 400/420 would be in evasion mantle, and by the time I do the second combo the evasion buff has run out.

It doesn't, small bites don't knock you over with flinch free (in this case coming from the super armour on roundslash, many moves have it- it's wind resistance + flinch free 3)

If not just luck then something like hunterpie will tell you the loaded animation that is about to play. Some of my favorites from fatalis are things like “L2 new fire spin move” and “l4 to l2 switch rush” which is gibberish unless you’re watching fatalis execute those moves. Or the cone which is something like “cone fire special move”
