It always surprised me that SNS can do triple digit damages casually, while DB struggles to even surpasses 100

It’s surprising at a glance, but if you look a little deeper into it, it makes a lot of sense. SnS only hits those massive numbers when doing Perfect Rush, a highly committal move (for SnS, at least). Perfect Rush also hits pretty slowly compared to DB, consisting of a total of 5 sword hits and 2 shield hits, each one harder to pull off than the last. DB’s demon fangs or blade dance combos have a lot more hits. I’ve never bothered to count them, but you hit at least 10 or 15 times in a blade dance, probably more. SnS’s other, faster moves like its basic slash combo are considerably weaker. Lastly, Perfect Rush requires a specific start up, that being a backstep or slinger burst. DB’s combos, on the other hand, can be done literally whenever as long as you have stamina, which isn’t an issue if you have a decently comfy build. So basically you can consider perfect rush to be SnS’s signature ultimate attack, which is why it hits so hard. The frostcraft definitely also helped.
