Thanks a bunch! I may do a community post detailing what all goes into each of these videos soon. I'm not sure how much longer I can keep up the momentum with the channel, as I have a regular job that will likely start working more in-person in the not-distant future. But, I'll do everything I can to keep putting out content. Rise will be a treasure trove, for sure! Just wish we could have a Switch Pro already...30fps sucks for gameplay and editing purposes.

That's the thing that just isn't explained in-game. Recitals do almost twice the stun of a super pound, and deal great extra damage that can easily be rolled out of before actually playing your song.

in most cases, spinning your horn is simply safer and deals more damage, especially on elemental sets. that's kinda why I dropped hunting horn whne iceborne released :( loved spamming those recitals.

The dancing analogy is even more relevant now that Rise's HH is straight up about breakdancing and styling on the monster. I hope you manage to break thru with these. I tried to run Hunting Horn on the demo, I'm not quite feeling it yet, the weapon is COMPLETELY re-tooled compared to its World iteration. Waiting to see how the different switch skills and wirebug moves change the gameplay. But you're right, the recitals and moves really breakdance all over the place! And thank you, a simple unedited run of Magnamalo coming soon, just need to upload it.

@@Bethynaee I still have yet to get into the groove. It’s sad, I know. The weapon was simply reworked and retooled far beyond anything I was accustomed to and it doesn’t feel right playing it. If I was coming into Rise fresh I may think otherwise, but I just can’t get over how the in-depth and methodical playstyle of World/Iceborne was gutted so harshly for the HH we have now. Sunbreak looks to continue this trend with more fast and flashy moves. It is what it is. Judging by how Lance seems to have been treated in Sunbreak, I wonder if Capcom will rework that weapon in the next game too.

@@Matadurr I completely feel the same way, although I've managed to appreciate new horn for what it is, iceborne/world horn felt so perfect, like a culmination of all the horns before it, the movement was so right and using performance to maneuver around attacks felt different than anything else in the game for me, it just hit all the right spots The portable games usually try out whacky stuff to experiment and alot of the time it dosent stick so I'd hope for in the future to see a return of the more classic horn.

It is probably one of the best series of build videos I've seen and I cannot even picture how many hours went into these. Even tho every build is not "META" they're all good by their standards and really fun to play. One small detail tho : Since you can customize the melodies on every safi horns with the awakened abilities, you're not tied to those you don't like making safi horns imo the best horns overall just due to their flexibility alone.

Thanks! Yeah I love the flexibility of the HH in Iceborne compared to Rise. A shame I never will be able to pick it up in Sunbreak. For the Safi horns I agree, all you have to sacrifice is an awakening slot, so there’s lots of room there for experimenting.

The difference is even more stark in Rise, depending on playstyle! Hunting Horn breakdances all over the place, while Lance has moves that allow it to dart back and forth with perfect guarding!

Mind’s Eye is in every build because the HH’s self improvement song gives it once played twice. Self-improvement is the easiest song to keep up as well! :)

Almost all footage used in these videos are captured in 4k from an Xbox Series X (earlier content from an Xbox One X). Depending on your specs and resolution/frame rate preference, you can probably get World to work well on your end. Golden Eggs are crucial for full upgrades. Best ways to farm them are steamworks, the arena zinogre quest, and helping low/high rank quests. If you've never sold them before, they're at the end of your trade-in items once you go to sell them and re-order everything.

No worries, that can look confusing on the build graphics. Mind's Eye comes innately with the encored self-improvement song. Assuming you are playing HH normally, you'll almost always have that melody active for the free skill.

Funny enough, there are actual earplugs out there sold primarily to musicians that have the special ability to allow players to hear the music while cutting out extremely loud sounds. I like to think the ones in the MH universe for HH players are one and the same.

I did my best to make it abundantly clear in all of my Iceborne build videos that these sets are almost entirely endgame-focused, i.e. geared toward optimizing builds to take on challenges at Fatalis’ level (AT Velkhana and Tempered Furious Rajang come to mind) or just to make other late-game content easier to grind materials for. Keep in mind that Hunting Horn might be one of the worst matchups for initial Fatalis clears. He is *very* difficult to dance around and still do decent damage. If you are proficient in other weapons you may want to try those against Fatalis. Back when i played a ton of Iceborne, even with fully-optimized HH sets *with* Fatalis parts, his fight was always challenging (especially solo!).

The lance I understand, because its damage output is just...bad. And most late/endgame monsters have counters to the super-blocks. But yeah, it's a sad state of affairs for HH to be at the bottom. :(

no joke i did the fire horn i lv upp everything but then silver rath essence never came guess how many i lv up the horn for the silver rath 107 times.... after 56 i used mod to then buy 100 pure dracolite to finally get it im not farmin that shit again

So the thing with Safi awakenings is that the awakening rolls are set with each weapon. One thing I used to do was save scum when I was trying to get the right combination, if any weapon took more than essentially 25 pure dracolite I would reload my save and do a different weapon.
