The heavy bowgun video will come out a lot faster, for sure. There’s less builds to worry about since Fatalis’ HBG is so broken for normal/pierce/spread.

@@puppydrift5664 HBG is awesome in the damage output department but evading and movement is really weird compared to LBG. If coming from melee I definitely recommend LBG first to understand ammo management and critical distance for ammos. Then, when you want to become a fire hose of destruction that hardly moves, HBG is your answer. :)

@@MatadurrI’ve done a ton of research and digging on how status works, and unfortunately there’s still a lot of ambiguity surrounding it.. but at the very least, the wiki says that status gain for melee weapons and blast bows have a 1/3rd status buildup chance. The apothecary boosts this to 100%, but status ammos/coatings already have 100% buildup chance, which renders apothecary useless for them

I’m about 1400 hours in, and I still get new decorations from time to time. The drop rate for rarity 12’s is just insulting. It’s mitigated somewhat by the three tempered elder dragon event quests as well as the buff in sealed feystone drop rates for investigations. From MR100-300 I think all I did was investigations. A fun process gradually getting stronger, for sure, but long!

@@Matadurr I dunno if I can last that long. Losing my sanity slowly with 90% of “evades” and “dodges” failing and getting hit by invisible body parts is slowly taking its toll. The game is honestly losing its appeal for me. I don’t want to fight a monster so much just to learn movement patterns. Fun to help low level layers tho haha
@Matadurr
@Matadurr 4 жыл бұрын
@@PoisonJarl71501 I totally understand. I was the same way early on until I looked a little more in-depth to the evade mechanics. Unlike something like Dark Souls, you’re only invincible for something like the first 25ish frames of an evade without any evade window skill points. Timing really is critical, but you can extend that frame count with evade window skill considerably. Also, when dodging, try to dodge “into” most attacks, instead of away from. By going in the opposite direction of a movement’s hitbox, you have a greater chance of not being in contact with it when your invincible frames expire. As for the patterns, that’s definitely a big part of the game! But, it can definitely be fun to sit back and help some low rank guys with walls like Anjanath and Pink Rathian. Either way, hope you can find something to latch onto with the game!

Bowgunning looks like fun but the level of micromanagement required doesn't. Ok so you chose your gun, now choose the right ammo only this gun can use, and guess what there's three variations of [insert ammo type]. What's that? You ran out of [insert ammo type] level three? Well you'd be dumb not to have the items to craft on the go. Oh how could you jump into the quest without adding the right attachments! Meanwhile blademaster is: Wow this is a nice stick, I will bonk the monsters with this stick.
@Matadurr
@Matadurr 4 жыл бұрын
I completely agree with you regarding the complexity vs. melee weapons. To be fair, World’s organization tools mitigate the issue considerably through not only armor/weapon loadouts (which also saves the weapon’s attachments), but item loadouts too. With item loadouts, you can tie one to a particular bowgun, and even edit its in-quest radial menu for fast ammo crafting. It takes only a minute or so to set each item loadout for a bowgun you want to use, so if the micromanagement is what’s really got you turned off from bowguns, I hope this helps.

Are elemental rapid fire builds really worth using in MHW?
@Matadurr
@Matadurr 4 жыл бұрын
They are! The Alatreon dominator really is that good. Technically the Kjarr LBGs are very slightly better with single-shot elemental ammo, but the difference is a couple percentages. Getting Kjarr weapons for elemental use is also a pain...because you can only really use each one against certain monsters.

why do you have critical eye on all the N3 builds so low at level 3? Don't you need it capped for affinity?
@Matadurr
@Matadurr 3 жыл бұрын
Good question. On Rajang’s LBG, affinity does reach 100% with agitator/WEX+. On the Royal Surefire Shot, it’s a similar story but affinity actually overcaps with agitator/WEX+. For the Lightbreak Gun’s build, you reach only 90% affinity with agitator/WEX+, and I chose this because I always run with the coral orchestra palico. If you want to get 100% affinity on that build, simply sub out the attack+ deco with an expert+ deco and you’ll have 100% affinity with agitator/WEX+ without needing the coral orchestra boost. Your overall EFR may be lower though. Hope that helps!
@tommo9176
@tommo9176 3 жыл бұрын
@@Matadurr it does thanks so much! what is the difference between 90 and 100 affinity? it just changes the chance to get a critical hit right? man in the last 3 days I've scored 5 expert+4 and 1 attack4. just need 1 more attack 4 or challenger 4 and I can finally build end game gear. ok so I should count up the affinity and see if I can avoid using an extra critical eye build and replace with an attack build. most lbg start with 0 affinity ti begin with anyway. soz long reply!!
@Matadurr
@Matadurr 3 жыл бұрын
@@tommo9176 affinity is the chance you have of striking a critical hit. 100% affinity, whether gained by agitator, weakness exploit+, or straight-up base affinity, means that you will always crit under those applicable conditions. The choice to chase 100% affinity is often a personal one, as weapons that hit slow and hard (like GS), NEED to have at least 95% affinity for reliable crits. For something like LBG, if you’re using Pierce or spread, you don’t need as high affinity since each pellet of spread or each piercing instance of pierce have their own chance to crit. But something like normal 3, you still want to aim for really high affinity since it’s usually a single-shot ammo. Ammos like sticky ammo do not crit, and elemental ammo crits only increase the physical damage, not the elemental damage (for that you need the critical element skill). I recommend running your build through HoneyHunter, and changing around your decos a bit to see how your efR changes (effective raw, basically a snapshot of your overall damage).

@@Matadurr you're an absolute legend. you didn't have to provide so much detail but you did. thank you. the issue with honey is I'd imagine itd be very complicated and difficult to add in affinity augments to weapons to get a proper affinity calculation l, but I guess I'll do one in my head. I always include shaver jewel in all my builds so maybe I can rely on wex more and reduce the critical eye from 7 to 5 - I'll get calculating. thank you again mate, I am genuinely very grateful
@Matadurr
@Matadurr 3 жыл бұрын
@@tommo9176 once you select your weapon and armor, adding augments is easy on HH. You can even select from the skills what should be activated at any given time for affinity calculations, such as agitator or WEX. But you’re welcome, good luck!
