MHW Iceborne | Glavenus solo TA (Long Sword) - 5'03

Half assed run done within 30 minutes of practice, still trying to figure out what the best course of action is during each attack. Planning to revisit this in the future and go for sub 5 but I'm currently also playing Code Vein and enjoying it more than I thought I would so Iceborne is not having my full attention right now.

The way you reposition yourself with your attacks while dodging Glav's attacks *precisely* at the very second is insane yet so beautiful. It's like there wasn't even a move wasted, every moves were calculated and executed according to the timing and area of the hitboxes. Really shows your experience at monhun games. How does one even figure out the hitboxes and i-frames/dodge mechanics of every monsters? That's still a mystery to me

Claire Vicidomini well by my experience I found iceborne leagues easier than GU mostly because the fixes in iceborne like not needing a wiki and easier gemming was part of it plus the styles in GU are hard to master at first even now I fuck up with valor

Attack animation doesn't actually orient the Glavenus, so when the tail got cut, it reset the animation to his original standing animation.

I started using LS again since I semi-retired from it back in 3U. IG was my World playthrough while I plan to stick to LS through IB. Watching a lot of folks use the new LS really makes me realise how stuck in the past I am with my style lol. I'm still playing like the 3 days ">,> Need to utilise the counters more. You can be so much more creative with it now, but it's hard breaking old habits and muscle memory.

same , just bring ur healer palico and start risking using it even if it fails and then ull quickly learn to use it, evade window skill rlly helps. Diablos is awesome to practice again

Revhan Thaens he isnt as predictable as he was in gen tho (maybe its the cause of leveled ground on maps) but in gen you were able to kill him just by using your adept evade attack or guardpoints.

He only has Agitator 4, which is 16 attack and he's already over capped for crit on weak spots so I figured it would have been better overall.

There are no established TA rules for IB yet afaik but pretty much every TA runner I've seen is using the claw and considering that TA rules are voted upon by speedrunners and not just decided by a single person I think it's very safe to assume that clutch claw will be allowed

@@collesque5045 thing is the rules state that only HR hunts are permitted IIRC, so there are no bans (and no official TA runs) for MR. Until that changes most people are doing TA HR ruleset + claw.

Actually, the sheath delay itself is forgiving but not the actual iai counter. If you do it too late you get hit, but if you trigger it too early you loose a spirit level. It's less forgiving than MHGU's Brave stance.

Second reason is cause looking at all the epic full body male armors that make the most of their designs and female ones being so skimpy and simplistic just sort of disappoints me. My gripe with this is mainly deviant monsters. Silverwind and grimclaw mostly. Silverwind? Lets cover up the male entirely but remove the net from the female. Then grimclaw male armor looks so epic and I am such a big fan of tigrex but my main was a female hunter and the grimclaw armor for females is a bikini of all things. Like why?! Normal tigrex armor covers more than that! Why capcom?! Why?!
