I feel like their monsters always get staggered by everything, meanwhile I whale on their face for maybe 2 staggers per hunt. Also I end up just watching youtubes fight things and I just sit there counting the attacks that would have hit me but did nothing to them

In multiplayer turn into an attack copter and get those sweet mounts. In solo, staying grounded is way better for pure dps.

DPS with glaive on the ground is bigger, this is a speedrun so he stayed on the ground to have more DPS and kill nerg faster

How are his attacks on Nergigante's horns not bouncing off? I have white sharpness with my IG and it bounces off his horns every time

Nerg has no dragon elemental attacks, so that doesn't matter. Dragon res mostly affects resistance to dragonblight, which nullifies your elemental attacks. A dragon's physical attacks are still only physical, not any elemental.

Even if I don’t get the highest numbers in the game, the extra bug buffs, mobility, and my blast clouds more than make up for it, for me. Insect glaive is fun and flexible once you get a feel for the flow of using buffs. Lotta people talkin that shit bout my glaive.

chance mccarter no almost every other weapon can do it in less time, bow and hammer can do it under 2 mins, both BG in under 2:30, GS in 3 mins and so on

chance mccarter oh i think some weapons do need some tweaking, Glave is one of the weaker ones. Its mounting utility is prob why its damage is so low but mounting decreases ur dps even more (which is why speedrunners never mount). So glave needs a buff if anything

Jesus Perez fair enough, I think weaker weapons should get buffs if anything. Needing things honestly kills games. If monsters are dying to fast then increase the health or defense stats.

In 2:00 he was moving laterally which avoids most of Nergigante's attacks without dodging and on the other two, beinger under Nergigante guarantee's not being able to get hit, unless he stands up two lags and prepares for a slam, or that sliding attack he does with the side of his body.

As good as this guy is there are definitely some points he coulda been doing more damage, his insect management coulda been better but otherwise very impressive. Definitely think ya can drop a few secs off this even still.

For example, you don't necessary need to get the orange buff. Speedrunners focus more on the red and white buffs to boost their attack and speed. It's also a lot easier to find and a lot faster.

I don't get why speed run people refuse to use the vault. I get theres more damage in ground combos and the vault should be used sparingly but there are plenty of situations where a well timed vault can up DPS by putting you in a better position quicker and come crashing down with a triangle press
