I really really appreciate the point on "over-optimization", like seriously. It just helps to hear someone who's been playing these for as long as you acknowledge anything can be viable and to just have fun, take it easy. In 2018 I made myself so anxious going into World I youtubed extensively to make sure everything I was doing was "right" and "meta" and it got very bad and exhausting. I was confused why so much stuff that didn't matter was in the game. No need for experimentation when the math was already done for you by youtubers. Just turn your brain off and follow their guides, cuz if you don't you'll cart and everyone on the subreddit will complain about you. This mindset had persisted to the point where I began to really dread the lead up to Monster Hunter game releases. My friends would all become obsessed with a game I couldn't deal with/stressed me out. Just a mess. I'm hopeful with Wilds I can buck this and just Have Fun again.

Always nice to see your videos. You're the last channel dedicated to monster hunter that doesn't annoy me. Also, last one I'm still subscribed to. Just enjoy your kickback attitude most of the time and not just drama and fake over the top reactions. (Really an burnt out with a lot of channels in general) You also had my favorite training videos back on the 3ds monster hunters. Think you were the one that helped me understand how motion damage worked.

I started on Iceborn up to MR 300, now on MR 5 Sunbreak (I set it aside for a bit due to eye strain) but I am warming up for Wilds. These have been the deepest games for exploration and crafting. I am a fanatic about crafting and no other game comes close to all the weapons and armor you can craft. Finding all the hidden spaces and hard to find critters is very fun. SO far in total I have played about 2500 hours in and I am not tired of it at all. The game developer treats us with respect and I love that. I want to be able to play a new game and have people I can call in to help me through the hard stuff. Some of the community are super skilled and always impress me. Only have mastered IG,LBG, HBG, Hammer and Switch Axe so far.

Short sweet and honestly what I wanted to hear! My favorite transition between generation was tri ultimate to 4U because.. I don't know if everybody remembers this but you obviously being in Japan you had the base for and we're making videos and stuff on it but oh my goodness there are so many people in the United States telling people that hold off or write a bunch of letters to Capcom to hopefully get the next expansion to that game and thankfully they did eventually confirm it for the West. Was extremely excited I remember buying my wife a copy at the time and we played along through low rank and high rank before she decided to stop playing but it was nice to actually have that experience with someone new to it. Sadly at my local area nobody else got into it as much as I did so G-Rank was definitely a lot but it was still something I tried to do my best though I never did get to see Gog myself :( (But I used your very good guide on how to fight that snake!)

The problem I'm currently dealing with is being torn between excitement that Capcom haven't revealed a whole lot of the game yet, like they typically have with recent releases, and a nagging fear that they actually have. Either way I'm still excited for the release.

I've definitely experienced a lot of this. For me it was generations. I started in Tri so it was the first time I had gone from G rank to just base game (we didn't get 4 in the West). Didn't feel great. Now that I've gone back to play it without expectations it's a fantastic game P.S. I've been watching your videos since before you had voice over. I hope you keep making them!

Yeah, I also started in Gen3, and found myself ever so slightly "disappointed" in Generations, Base World, and in Rise, despite liking many things about them, and then fell in love with MHGU, Iceborne, and Sunbreak, and eventually noticed a pattern. Hopefully I can be a bit more self-aware this go around!

I really hope there is at least 3 or so more maps we have yet to see (talking more end game stuff). Overall, I think this will be one of the greatest Monster hunter Generations, but I can't say much since its not out. I really hope we see in the future idea's/info for a new weapon type or a system to change how the weapon works on a basic level, in a way how the wire bugs skills from rise did

World Lunastra is a good baseline for elder dragon difficulty even for veteran players. I agree that old players are getting better but there are also a lot of QOL changes and more tools available for hunters and that amplifies the power imbalance of hunters over monsters. I think a huge charm of monster hunter comes from failing a quest. The struggle makes the reward of wearing the monster's corpse as a trophy more prestigious.

I do not engage with the meta build community. Like you said its all well and good to do that. But i genuinely don't understand those that do. Especially if you're a veteran hunter you've killed most if not all chance at anything interesting beyond the fights themselves (post story anyways). I also can't advocate enough for using elemental stuff even where raw damage would kill it faster. (I use elemental gs for the rp aspect which absolutely makes people spitting mad because "its not optimal") like yeah. It isn't optimal but it is:Fun!

I remember playing the first monster hunter on PS2 and sucking at it, this continued through MH2, and it wasn't until Tri until I was actually able to make it to high rank quests. And now with rise I actually managed to make it to the end of the MR story too Like the video says, you level up as a player, even if you have to start again in new games so my advice would be that if you like the games but aren't good enough to feel like you can fully enjoy them, you might find that the chance to reset with a new game will help you improve

@CloudWind06432 сағат бұрын
Good video but I am getting so tired of the "you are just getting better as a hunter" excuse for these games getting easier. MHFU and GU are still challenging games and i've been playing MH for 15 years, the 5th gen games are over all easier because they have been making the games easier, not just because of my skill increasing. Hopefully MHWilds will have some challenging monsters in the progression of the story and endgame that will counteract the "QOL" changes the team keep making for no reason.
@SiktСағат бұрын
100% agree. 5th-gen games like MHWI & MHRS are just much more easier. Master Rank in MHWI/RS is ease like High Rank in MH4u/Gu. High Rank in MHWI/RS is like Low Rank in MH4u/Gu etc.
@H8fulApe4 сағат бұрын
I want a MH game in the style of World/Wilds that would last years and continue to have support, explains lore about the game and creatures. Where content could be pumped out the same way the portable games receive.

My expectation is to the game run 60fps without framegen nor upscalers… lmao
@daizbid3 сағат бұрын
I was able to run the beta at 60-70 without any upscaling or frame gen, but I do have a more powerful rig than most people. That said, the newer footage we've seen from IGN looks wayyyyyy smoother and more consistent, and that's still not the final build. I'm betting a native 60 on any hardware newer than 2020 will be perfectly plausible.

I feel like they put so much of their budget into graphics when all I want is a lot of content (monsters, armor, weapons, upgrades). They are going way too far with the graphic fidelity and should have struck a middle ground in style between Rise and World. Charming simpler graphics, are much better than photorealistic and easier on the eyes. Particularly in action games. My opinion.
@GarchompPlay2 сағат бұрын
You're probably already playing or have already played the full game, so at first "quality over quantity" makes me want to cancel the purchase, as there have been few monsters shown in the game so far and I'm afraid there won't be much more than these. :c
