Yes you need to keep the light switch on. Don’t worry it uses very very little energy while on standby. No worries on electricity cost.

Just one doubt. How do You ask google assistant to turn the lights to the default white. Not color white (which is really dull) but the true brightest white? Eg. Alexa has the options to set the default white. Even the MiHome app has the two options of Color and White. So How do I ask google to set it to the default white?

I use 'bright white'. If you just say white it will be warm white.

@@gadgetsLZ hey nope it doesn’t work. Saying bright white is still not equal to the actual white in the MiHome app. Try this out. Tell google to set the color to bright white. Then go to the MiHome app and select the white option at the bottom (not color) and see the difference in brightness.

China for all smart devices apart air purifier which seems to only connect on the UK region. The UK region [and therefore the air purifier] does connect to Google Assistant but the China one does not seem to connect. I am in Australia and could also not get the air purifier to connect in this region. So if I removed the UK region completely I am not sure that the China region would connect. Thanks for your help

From what I tested before google assistant is does not support China region. I just thought that there was some update. As for switching global products to China region, some products works but some doesn't. This bulb can't be added if I switch to China region. Now when buying Xiaomi products I choose all global versions to connect with my google home and Alexa.

Hello, really nice video. I just wanted to make an automation with this smart bulb in my toilet :) When 10:00 PM brightness goes to 25% until 06:00 AM, when it goes back to 100% Unfortunately, when the physical switch is OFF during the automation times 10:00 PM and 06:00 AM, it will just try ONCE to perform automation. So, when I turn ON the switch at 10:05 PM, the automation won't execute, because it isn't pending anymore

@All About Mi I'm also curious if there's a way to set different Favourites/Scenes based on the time of day even if the bulb's power is switched off. I have found the menu which lets you configure the light to turn on or just change color, but that's only if it's power is on. I'm curious if there's a way for the bulb to pick up a setting based on a condition when it's power is turned on. That would be cool but seems off limits.

It would depend on the version of your Bulb and the region you are on. To add it, on the Mi Home App press and hold the light bulb from the device list. You see options at the bottom. On of them is Home Kit.

Use it as a wake up light for example. Slowly becoming stronger to simulate sunrise and ease your brain into waking up in the morning. See Phillips Wake-Up lights for example. Also, set the mood for the hanky panky etc.
