My first car in 2001 as soon as I got my driving license : TSE, same engine, a lot of equipment (central locks with remote control, electric windows, front fog lights... it lacked power steering and air conditioning or sunroof). The engine was not bad at all (plus it had a very roary engine with its modified air filter box), the car quite light, the chassis was alright... Good memories overall. Too bad I sold it for a less interesting (white, poorly equiped except for the power steering) 65 hp 1.9 diesel Renault 19. Being French, I had a lot of French cars after that : Peugeot 205 diesel (not bad), Peugeot 405 diesel (not bad but slow), Peugeot 307 HDi 90hp (well... not a fan), many Citroën CX (from the 95hp diesel turbo to a 180hp GTi turbo: excellent cars but not easy to work on), a 150hp Renault Laguna II 2.0 dCi (excellent engine, good car, bad electronics), a diesel 2.0 12V Citroën XM (interesting engine, good car but not very reliable (leaks, electronics...) and a lovely 1968 30hp Citroën Dyane (That one I won't sell it). I'm now in love with my 120hp Peugeot 306 1.8 16v. Actually it reminds me of this Renault 19 1.4 TSE (light car, enough power, good chassis) but I have to say the Peugeot 306 is faster and funnier to drive (especially in curves thanks to its excellent chassis). Anyway: no more diesel for me, I'll stick to light petrol cars with mods for ethanol E85 (programmable ECU and wideband oxygen sensor and modified ignition tables). I'm sure the Germans, Italians, Japanese... produce better (and more expensive) cars. But I know that French bashing (about cars) is stupid : our cars are just as reliable as others (I never had any engine problem on ANY of my old cars!). The malfunctions came from old worn parts or from Chinese eletronics (yeah, the same as in Mercedes, BMW, etc.). My 2 (euro) cents. Oh and I would love to take a few turns on the Nürburgring. I once tried my Citroën CX GTi Turbo on a track (Albi, France), that day was a lot of fun. So... THE ring... kzbin.info/www/bejne/aaCmm6psgKhlpsU

Note for everyone including owner: The carburated version of the E6J (Energy or E block engine) developed very close to 100hp. This was some sort of a "gentleman's agreement" and for the cars being able to respect "the norms" of the time. I've seen a portuguese CHAMADE with the exact same engine that had a fully rebuild carburator and ignition system, they dyno it and it made exactly 99hp and 114Nm. So yeah, everyone with this car always had more power and never new about it lol (including me). Congrats on the car.

certeza que o motor que ele tinha la nao era um 1.6 energy? sao todos iguais por fora 100cv de um 1.4 energy stock? dificil acreditar. Tenho um de injeccao monoponto e caixa reduzida num clio 1

Esta muy guapo ese 19 rojo y chamade el justo igual que el mio pero es el 16v que yo lo tengo dado de baja temporal y tengo ganas de volverlo a utilizar saludos.

Yo tuve uno cuando me saqué el carnet Renault 19 16v en gris el primer modelo M-3424 MJ era una máquina con un escape directo que le puse y no veas el ruido que metía eso si un día me gaste 20€ en hacer 60 km más o menos ....💸💸

i still own mine, got it in 2001, it has almost 400k kms on it and nothing major replaced, including nothing done to the engine. I barely drive it anymore since i got 2 way newer cars but it still runs fine, you can see a video in my profile of it starting up like its daily driven even after sitting for months.

Lo de coger el volante depende de cada uno, también es la primera vuelta y vas con el subidón. Y si la quinta la meto poco por algo será no? A ver tus vídeos en circuito, muestramelos Un saludo. Gracias

@@pablerasturbo no no tengo vídeos y si se porque no enseñas 5 por el par motor más par .más fácil es controlar el coche porque va full pero hay sitio que si se puede .y no voy de listillo ni nada simplemente que el volante lo tienes que pillar bien ya está por el tema de descontrol de vehículo nada más sería una pena que esta unidad tan escasa se vaya al pairo
