One time, I went to a “dance” club and there was a guitar player in the restroom. I requested “hotel California “ and he started playing it. Half way through the song, people started to sing along and he’d looked worried. He kept on playing, they kept on singing, each verse got hurried more and more. By the end, he did the whole song, people were happy, and he was glad to be done with it. He was compensated very well also. Great times I tell you.

Violins don't have 7 strings. Violins don't have frets on the fingerboard. It's a guitar being played with a bow. HOT, HOT, HHHHHHHHOT !! As a family of violin players 5 generations back. That new fangled violin is awesome. You have made me want to get out my old violin to see what is left as a grandma of 65. And introduce an up and coming violin playing granddaughter to a new style of violins.

I am impressed and as stunned as I was when I heard this done in 1976. CD was doing southern college tours back then and was on the road to being discovered. I’m just a yankee boy who was floored by his fiddle and bands new direction to take country music. It wasn’t released until 1979 so I consider myself fortunate. May you be as blessed as CD was. He’d be totally impressed with your ability. Now give Ghostriders in the Sky a fiddle rendition. That would be great. And something original too.

I think her self censoring of it added some humor to the song. I saw her that day and it was awesome. It was hard to believe some just ignored the performance and kept walking down the pier.
