Cutting off all your hair to donate it is so Mia. I did basically the same about a year ago. I cut a long bob, then bangs, then a short wolf cut a few months later. Now it's a few inches past my shoulders and looks like I got professional layers, but nope. I did that! It feels great to take control of your appearance for yourself. I’m so amazed that at 16 he had realized that people are in need for just the slightest bit of kindness in their lives . That was in 1996 . Sometimes when people keep a style for a long time, especially when it's long, it almost becomes part of your identity. When I cut mine, I got BS comments like "omg... you were so pretty... why you do that to your hair?" and other things that make you feel awful. Everybody has an opinion. 😒

God I love it though! So proud of her for having the guts to cut it, and do it how SHE wanted it and not how everyone has been telling her to for so long. Same. I’ve always considered my hair my best physical asset. Friends say I have shampoo commercial hair. I’ve had it at various lengths during my life, but only recently decided to chop quite a bit after many years of it being quite long. It was hard to chop it given the compliments I always get about it, but I needed a change. It’s been both fun and frustrating (styling it has been brutal due to the curl and texture), but I don’t regret the decision. You absolutely have to do what makes you feel good! And hair does grow back, so it’s never a permanent decision! ☺️

Amazing!! My brother passed away from cancer when he was 6 years old. In high school, I grew my hair out for 4 years and then chopped it down to a pixie cut to donate it. It was such a meaningful experience. Thanks for sharing this with us ❤️
