Just purchased a copy of this from the U.S.A., waiting to arrive in Australia, so excited, very hard to get!

That's gotta be one of the best depictions of a mimic that I've ever seen.

@wr00t I think that it was the lack of more dungeon tiles which is made up for by lots of monsters and artifacts. By the way I listened to the plaid hat podcast today and Colby Dauch and Mr. Bistro were both saying that they were pumped by their reception from GenCon and have already started preliminary work on Dungeon Run 2. I imagine with that name that it is aiming to be a stand alone expansion, but that is speculation.

@wr00t Maybe the slow start or the few number of dungeon tiles?

Just gave this a go at a convention and enjoyed it. Hope I can still find a copy.

@codykonior I haven't actually played Raveloft, but Wrath of Ashardalon, which is basically the same game. If you don't mind this game not being a 100% co-op, then I'd say this one beats D&D Adventure System games in every way possible. The combat is way better, there are multiple possibilities to level up, the playtime is shorter, the rules are simpler... and it actually feels like a dungeon crawl, unlike Ravenloft.

Sounds like an AWESOME game. Cutthroat Caverns is my most favourite game of all time and this game seems to be quite similar to it. I hope some company will translate it to German otherwise I will buy it in the English version (not that I hav a problem with reading English cards, but some of my friends do.)

Great review. This game looks like a ton of fun, and just reading their surprisingly amusing manual online is making me grin in anticipation. So excited! (Pity my friends who will have to put up with me ranting at them about this in the meantime.)

I'm dying to get Summoner Wars (I'm just now getting into these types of games) and hearing this is from Plaid Hat definitely makes me want it as well.

This looks great -- surprised I hadn't heard of it until now. For those of us who don't have the time and energy for AD&D any more, this looks like a nice light substitute. Or, from a different perspective -- Munchkin + (a map) + (a little more combat complexity) - (excessive silliness) => Dungeon Run. I'm pretty sure my friends and I would play it as a straight cooperative game without the backstabbing/killyerbuddies option, though. Too many hurt feelings if people are attacking each other. Leave that for Red Dragon Inn.

This game looks great and I just ordered it. The only thing that seems like I might not like is the dice look to be low quality. If they are the same quality as the ones in summoner wars I will definitely be replacing them.

Hey Tom, I think you did a little mistake when talking about combat. You may assign any die that is potential hit to block monster's attack, even if it's not the same number.

dungeon run vs betrayal at house on the hill, what do you think?

Tom, you wanted to say something at 11:03 and then you let Sam tell his opinion. What was that "the only thing"? :)

Déjà vu, Dragon Quest is still my favorite dungeon crawl game

The only thing I worry about this game is, I won't be able to find enough of people in my group to play with :p

Looks interesting, but I really dont like the backstabbing element, I love dungeon crawl mostly for that "let's unite against overwhelming odds" feel, helping each other, cheering when a team effort brings a particularly nasty beast down, that kind of stuff.

This looks veeeeeery similar to the Order of the Stick board game with a few more elements thrown in. Still, looks fun though
