Unfortunately the Heat are $5mm away from the 2nd apron cap, so you can’t trade for Lauri unless you trade someone that makes exactly what he makes ($18,044,544). That also means You also don’t have the ability to add a bunch of contracts together to match his salary and because you’re at the apron, you also can’t trade draft picks to get him (I’m not sure you guys have much to trade as it is). I also think you guys only have two trade exceptions you can use and one of them is expiring in two days. So unless Derozen wants to come for a taxpayer MLE, it’d be hard to sign him too. Unfortunately, your guys’ cap sheet makes it somewhat unrealistic for you guys to sign or trade for either of those guys

From a reputable source, the Heat wanted Caleb and Co. to opt in and got a 5-year contract that would've worth north of 60 M., but Caleb and his agent thought that they would've gotten more elsewhere. The moment Caleb opted out of his contract; the Heat couldn't offer him that kind of money anymore. So, the market went dry for him. As a result, his agent had to settle for less. BRILLIANT!!!

If this team can stay healthy, they are always a problem. Move Herro back with the 2nd Unit, start Duncan, and Niko....You have a starting 5 of Terry, Duncan, Jimmy, Niko, and Bam. 2nd Unit of Herro, Love, Jaime, Richardson, Burke, Ware, Bryant, and whoever else they choose to play. Caleb can take his ugly jumpshot and erratic playstyle over to Philly. He was good in the playoffs for us, but we will be just fine moving on from him

now all that needs to happen is for the front office to be fired. They have been caught lacking these past years by not being able to pick up good signings

We’re glad you don’t like us bums, but we don’t really pay attention to the mid Miami fan base anyway. Heat Culture seems to be falling apart all of the sudden. Hopefully they aren’t turning into the new Marlins.

Why would any player take a five year deal right now with the new TV deal about to go in effect in the next two years. He’ll make more money with a shorter deal.

Wow, this might be one of the biggest miscalculations by an Agent ever. Although, the agents work for these players at the end of the day. Caleb clearly should have gotten a second opinion.

Loved Caleb but Glad we did not overpay him. Hope we can keep Haywood, he had better fg% and 3pt% than Caleb and defends as well as.

Look, Caleb aint shit. He was a two-way player 2 years ago, had his moments for the Heat and that's it. He sucked last year anyway.

We only need 8 to 10 pts from him. Our top 3 players average 80+ pts. Yall needed him to outdo himself. We need his defense and 8-10pts a game

He’s playing under Nick nurse. One of the best coaches in the league who also created the likes of siakim, OG etc. had he gone elsewhere I would agree with this statement.

I think that $65 mil deal would have put Miami in the second apron. I don’t believe they offered that.

Not if he opted into his existing contract. That’s why he couldn’t comeback and accept the Heats offer - he was already a free agent and would push us into the second apron.

Teams gotta understand that you DO NOT touch players that the Miami Heat have developed. Once the player leaves the Heat, 9 out of 10, this player ends up out of the league instantly. We used to pay those players too much money anyway. Let him go. 👋 👋 👋 👋 Martin. I bet he'll be out of the league sooner than he anticipates.

Yeah, that's because Heat Culture runs them into the ground. That's also why this team always has so many injuries every single year.
