Take the safety #7 out please and leave #20 in. He came in and at least made two good plays back to back until his helmet came off. I don’t know how you are giving playing time but the first Louisville touchdown came off your safety #7 again coming in a bad angle and he slow. If you are going to constantly get bad angles from this guy at least be fast. This guy can’t even run down a tight end.

Last year, our safeties were James and Kam, and they didn’t play up to their potential. Everyone said, they were trying too hard, playing hero ball. This year, we have much less talented safeties, and the play has been horrendous. So, it’s the scheme. DBs aren’t all-stars, but damn, they’re better than this. Guidry’s “bend, don’t break” scheme, is broken. Offense is world class, because of Cam Ward, and that’s ok. 7-0; I’ll take it.

Yes our defense gave up some plays but they did score 7 points. How many points did Louisville’s defense score? We are the #1 offense in the country & Cam Ward leading the offense like an NFL qb. The D didn't give up the S/T TD, nor were they responsible for providing UL a short field. The 3rd down D was phenomenal... I don't remember, but UL also had to do a fake punt. Numbers wise, the unit is 14th in the country.

If you look at other defenses play that are not suspect, it's an entirely different feeling. They make the offense feel a little uncomfortable about what they want to do. Not all of the time. But enough of the time at least to where the offense doesn't walk up and down the field at will.

Great great win. I knew this would be a tough game and I know I shouldn’t be complaining. 7-0, but I can’t ignore this secondary. It’s just so bad. It felt like Brooks had 200 yards receiving. Our defensive line would consistently put them behind the sticks with 3rd and 17 or 4th and 9, and still couldn’t stop anybody. Not to mention, when they caught the ball, they would miss the tackle, leading to a huge gain or TD. As good as Cam Word and this offense is, this defense is equally as much a liability. They are flat out awful, like one of the worst in the nation bad. I don’t think there is a unit in the nation performing as poorly, considering the pressure the DL applies. I was concerned about our OL and RB this season but they stepped up today, but at this point I have no hope for this secondary , the lack of talent is glaring. Patterson needs more snaps, other than that, we need to recruit overtime for DBs. Honestly, it’s shocking how bad they are , not even serviceable.

I'm thrilled to be 7-0. Some OL, all DL, WR, RBs are ballin! I really don't know how Rivers was Preseason All American. He and Cooper are straight ass. Porter and Powell kept coming up and getting beat deep. DB 101. We also can't cover a TE. If you're gunna put an LB on a TE, put Bissanthe on him. He's got better wheels. Guilty better step it up.

We knew our secondary would be sketchy. We need more pressure on QB. Tackling must improve. Our goals should be to go 1-0 each week. Win ACC championship and go as far as possible in playoffs. If we win ACC we get a bye in first round of playoffs. So that would put us in the final 8. Would be an awesome season and really help recruiting

We don’t have a championship defense. My concern is next year if we fix it , either by hiring a new DC or recruiting more players, we lose Cam. So we will have a QB with little experience and a defense on the mend.

Defense has had the same issues for the last three weeks and it’s all fundamentals. Basically stick to your assignment, wrap up on tackles and make plays on the ball. You’ve got enough of this bs on tape to coach it right so these kids need to use their brains, get in position, make tackles and stop going for hero ball highlight reel plays. They making us look terrible out there against basic offenses. No way this is playoff level defense.
