I bought a Nissan Skyline about 10 years ago and the song I played when I first gave it a good thrashing was Buck Rogers by Feeder. It was awesome but I wish I'd discovered Synthwave back then. This track in the Skyline. That would be a dream. I drive a Peugeot 106 these days....

Thanks for the remake, super good. Here's my story with this song/band: Backstory: Pretty sure I first saw a Neros77 video way back around 2012/13 which led me to this original, and then to the whole album. I pictured it so well in my mind and I couldn't get it out of my head. From there, it led me into the whole 'retrowave movement' with these authentic sounds and deeper into the archives of similar artists, ultimately leading me into the strange nostalgic world of vaporwave. I had never been to Miami Beach or Florida for that matter, but I knew that I wanted to go. So I packed up my touring bicycle in 2015 and I started pedaling down the east coast. I had it all planned out in my mind and I executed my own dream. Once I reached Miami Beach at sunset all the sights and lights were right there in front of me, and that same bike path was below me. I cranked on this song and this whole EP and cruised the strip, living my own dream and fantasy. Those few moments were beyond euphoric and made me feel higher than I had ever been before! I had made it all happen. So a big THANK you to Neros77 & Miami Nights 1984 for helping me live out one of my fantasies and making my musical dreams come true.

Reminds me of when I finally got my job transfer to Florida about a year and a half ago. I was working nights, and i wasn't as close to Miami as I'd hoped, but when I finished my shift early in the mornings, I cruised down Ocean Drive a few times after work with this album blasting out my car speakers, of course.

Well happy birthday to me! ('twas actually the 22nd :D) As many have stated before me, this track and channel was my introduction to synthwave as well, and I haven't found a better one yet. Gene Simmons... 'Miami Vice' was shot in Technicolor...amazing quality for a TV show out of the 1980's when the technology was fading after being around since the early 1900's, but due to Michael Mann's involvement in the show, he insisted on this to portray the vivid contrasting color combinations that couldn't be achieved with the more modern technology. This was a tedious and costly process but was a vital element of the show's esthetic, giving it a "life like" reality. It was the best of analogue.

That's really cool. The colors in it are so dynamic, and it has a sense of texture to it that you get from film, that video just doesn't have. I've heard it said that Miami Vice was the first television show that could really compare to our best movies. Probably inspired Lynch to make Twin Peaks not long after...

@@Margatroid Yes, it had similar production quality to "Scarface", a Hollywood box office mega movie that was released only one year prior. If it wasn't for NBC cancelling 'Knight Rider' and moving the time slot of MV forward to 9pm, it wouldn't have competed with Dallas and the show likely would've went on for a few more seasons. That move killed the show after five seasons. Still a good run but I think Mann intended for it to go longer. Johnson got interested in other adventures at the time and wanted a better contract. That was another factor.

@@djscott9207 Five years is still pretty good for a TV show! Maybe it ended before it got worse. And Mann went on to make some good films. :) "Manhunter" has a pretty similar aesthetic to Miami Vice, with the colors and the strong period vibe. I liked that one.

Also, nice touch with the red heels dancing in the Quickstar TV at the end. Red was never once seen in a MV episode due to Mann not allowing it and wishing to focus instead on pastels and cool colors. Not sure if that was irony on your part, but it made me reflect on this fact. Once again, great upload and fantastic work!
