I’m an ole guy, 72YO. I absolutely adore you and your creative music. The videos where you explain your looping I think are second to none. I honestly think you should be the looping Queen of the music industry. Wow that's an extraordinary life you're living for someone so talented and very young. And you still do homework on the road....are you fantastical? LOL, I didn't excel in English class when I was your age. I've gotten better now with time the hard way. My wife is a teacher and she'd help me with my writing (grammar, vocabulary, syntax) from time to time. One time, she previewed a letter I was writing for work. In red ink she had circled, marked, lined through, etc.. all the mistakes I made. I felt like there was more red ink than black. I cried, true story, because she was honest where others weren't. It was a frustrating day indeed but I decided to listen and learn from it. I've gotten better since then but English class was never easy for me. I hope this made ya laugh a bit at my expense but I admire your dedication to your education as well as making your dreams come true. Keep it up because obviously you have the right people in your life. :)

Thanks for taking the time to write and for the story about English :) I certainly don't hate school I think I just prefer spending as little time on it as to still learn the material. @@miamorrismusic Your many years of practice shows in your talent, your ability to remain calm and cool under mounting pressure shows your parents good examples and your own capacities to hold yourself together. "Smart rock stars." Lol! Awesome response. I'm a little concerned, Mia. You're becoming a real major force, I sincerely hope that you remain humble. I know that Mr. Beck and I, and countless other subscribers tell you how awesome you are, and it's true, but I kinda think that I see a little of that humility slipping. I hope it's just me and that you remain sweet and humble. Awesome to get a quick glimpse of Dad! It was blurry, but I always wondered what he looked like! You have an awesome father, Mia. I know you know that. Tennessee is a very beautiful state. I've been on that highway when I was a kid and it was breathtaking. (Used to live in Johnsonville). If you get a chance, (I'm positive that you will travel extensively in the years to come), check out the Rockies in Colorado. Absolutely gorgeous! Also Pennsylvania has some pretty breathtaking sights. I honestly can't think of a single state that I've visited/lived in that didn't have awesome scenery. You just have to know where to look. You seem extremely intelligent, as most creative people are, do you hate English class? You're so eloquent and have such an extensive vocabulary, I thought that it would be one of your favorite subjects? Anyway, enough blabbering, thanks for the video, and so happy that you're progressing so quickly in your career. Send my regards to dad. Peace and love.
@miamorrismusic5 жыл бұрын
I'm doing well in English but the teacher is one of a couple that somehow seemed offended when I'm not in class. I like the subject but I just try to stay out of the way of certain teachers and it can make the class a bit of a drag. Anyway, I think you'd have to be deaf to get a big head as a musician in this town. There are waitresses and uber drivers in this town that have more talent than I may ever have on their particular instrument. I just like to play and love music and I feel confident when I'm doing it, that I can help make songs sound better. I'll give your regards to my Dad :)

I think it may be way more work than most people think but for me, the work is pretty great and just about my favorite thing to do :) I know it's a ridiculously unlikely business to succeed in but when the process is so cool along the way, I'm not really sure I care about the odds of success.
@MageeMC5 жыл бұрын
@@miamorrismusic I have no doubt that it's way more work than most people think. Just the time in learning new songs would shock people who haven't done it. I'm glad to hear that you really enjoy doing it, because it is too much work to think about doing if you don't enjoy it. Doing it for reasons other than it being a passion leads to burnout and misery. Whether or not you succeed in it really depends on what you define success as? Would you consider it successful if you were playing the local scene regularly? Doing studio sessions on a regular basis? Making a full time living at either? Touring musician? There are so many different paths in music that can be considered successful. My only advice for now would be to keep doing what you like doing, keep trying different things to figure out if you like them and in the meantime keep going to school and get the most out of that. A good formal education can never be taken away from you and can help you in so many ways that you would never expect that a diploma itself doesn't. I'm going to enjoy watching whichever path you decide to go down as long as you choose to keep making videos to share your experiences. Thank you!

AWESOME SAUCE!!! I loved the shorter clips on IG but these longer clips are amazing Neighbor!! I'm not sure that "hope you succeed" is a relevant comment anymore because it looks like you are already succeeding! I know you've mentioned that you are becoming known as "the cajon girl" in Nashville and you might not want to be pigeon holed as that, I gotta tell ya if you are considered "THE" of anything musical in Nashville Music City that is success to me Miss Mia. You looked so great and really belonged in all of these musical opportunities. My pride level in you just jumped off the charts. Also I love your love of food! Lol Of course I'm a bit jealous that you stay so slim eating pizza, shakes, Frosties, etc. Haha! Anyway I really love these longer versions of the IG clips and added footage. You have the best content on KZbin, and that's why you are my favorite on here. You just keep getting more and more amazing! I'm probably almost as excited as you that school will be out soon and you can really immerse yourself in more music and share it with us. WooHoo! Well I've exceeded my usual word count so have an awesome weekend Mia! Stay amazing! 😁🤘💕😎 PS. How are your Spotify numbers doing bc cause I'm playing your stuff like crazy! 😁 #cajongirl #foodjunkie #passthepizzaplease #wheredashakesat

Good point on the cajon. I'm certainly glad I discovered them and I really do enjoy making a box as musical as I can. I'm glad you like the vlogs and I make a point of working out at least 2 times a week because I think there's no chance I'm going to be staying away from my favorite foods :) Thanks for always using and talking about Spotify, it's going to play a big role if I get to be an artist.

HI Mia. Thanks for another great VLog. Your name is Mia, and you are a professional musician! Maybe not to the extent you want as yet. Maybe not enough to get you out of science class yet. But you are getting hired and hanging with some really amazing people. You get to do that becuase you are truly amazing and super talened too! I do wonder though how you feel when you see an empty drum kit set up on stange, and you're there playing your cajon. (not meaning to imply anything negative at all about the cajon) You are super talented and you are doing your time, paying your dues, and clocking up plenty of stage and studio time. I know you can and will achieve all you hope to with your music. I love that you are socking up your opertunites to learn from each job and excperience. I wont ever stop palying your music. I wont ever stop cheering you on, for as long as you are happy to have me as a fan. You ARE a smart rockstar! Soon you wont need to do English homwork before gigs. Those days will be over soon enough. Unless of course you choose to keep going with that as well. A theisus for your english masters in your music downtime could be a goal of yours for all I know. What ever you choose to do I know you can succeed. I wont ever know all you hopes and dreams, and nor should I. A stranger in a far off land. (who so very much wants to come see you preform live soneday) I am super greatful for all you do choose to share with us all. Thank you Mia. Its really fun and exciting to see you being appreciated by others in the industry. Its great to know you are being hired, and that is no suprise at all. (I am please to hear folk a looking out for you and taking care of you too). Expect to be turing away work. as you will just have too much to choose from soon enough. It really is great getting to see some of your journey. Thanks Mia. Keep doing your thing your way! :) :) :) Have a great weekend, and a wondeful week ahead. Oh and btw, it was so awesome to catch your harmonies and backing vocals at last weeks Song Suffragettes. You were so great!!! I watch the show online almost ever week. I really must come catch the show in person same day!!

Sorry to go in reverse here but, that was fun at the SS's and it's so cool that you see that in a far away land! You're not wrong about the kit but these signer-songwriters often don't have a band and the cajon is really a pretty good fit for much of the music they are doing. If I'm playing more of a percussion roll, I think I rather be on the cajon where I can feel it with my hands and coax out as much dynamics as I can. Now if some rock band was playing some killer riffs, that would be torcher. I think I'll get a few more looks at kit in the future. Thank you for all of your loyal support and encouragement Mark.

MarkLikesMusic I really like this journey with Mia also Mark! She does soo much. She's getting to where. ..what do I do next. The big demand for her is getting started more and more.
