Serial Mom is a 1994 American black comedy/thriller film written and directed by John Waters, starring Kathleen Turner as the title character, Sam Waterston as her husband, and Ricki Lake and Matthew Lillard as her children. Patty Hearst, Suzanne Somers, Joan Rivers, Traci Lords and Brigid Berlin make cameo appearances in the film. Movies by Waters' creative influences, including Russ Meyer, Otto Preminger, William Castle, and Herschell Gordon Lewis, are seen playing on television sets throughout the film.
The film was screened out of competition at the 1994 Cannes Film Festival.

It's a hilarious line ... And, VERY much of its era. Divorce rates started to shoot up in the 70s and 80s. There was a lot of paranoia about it from conservatives. So, that line .... It's totally making fun of those paranoid people's hysteria about the plight of divorced women.

I loved this movie as a kid lol. I wish Kathleen Turner would be the killer in the next Scream movie, to revenge Stu Macher's (Matt Lillard) death. It would make for a great campy horror movie 😂 She would be sooo good. I thank John Waters for my taste of humour today.

You watched this as a kid?!?! Your parents must have been extremely permissive for 80s parents.

@@RobespierreThePoofyes this was the first time I heard the word " chicks with dicks" not even realizing straight away what that was lol. Im from Iceland and I thank my mom who is also a film buff for allowing me to watch banned movies. She even strongly advised me to rent Rosemary's Baby and Deliverance ( without saying a word about that brutal scene) when I was around 14 lol. I thought Deliverance was this beautiful river rowing nature adventure drama with some suspense maybe so it had an incredible affect on me. I think Tarantino is highly influenced by it also. Im lucky she was so liberal in that way😂

The parking lot scene inspired so many other shows like the supermarket episode of King of Queens and Malcolm in the Middle 😂

Thumbs up if u think Kathleen Turner would've been a good choice to play the role of pennywise in "It".

@@bo2720 Ikr! Her voice is hella scary. She could've turned pennywise into more of a mystery cuz we wouldn't know if it were male or female.
