We need better position analyzer / metric than we have today. If one player needs to make 10 precise /only moves in a row, then 0.00 is not 0.00. I don't know how you would mark such a position, but this is the reason the evaluation bar rarely tells you useful information.
@bruhh48910 ай бұрын
well problem is that the 0.0 analysis is based on material analysis, so you can’t really describe the sharpness of the position through the eval anyways cuz it’s a whole different metric. I think the best way would be coming up with different more nuanced metrics to analyze games that look into different things like what you pointed out

@@bruhh489sorry but modern engines don't care at all about material analyses. Look at the latest games by komodo and it can be like 3 pieces down but have a completely dominant advantage...
@aries27649 ай бұрын
@alpha007org the analyzer you're talking about is called "human chess player"
@bruhh4899 ай бұрын
@@aries2764 because later on in the position the engine analyses a material or pseudo material advantage, which is not what we’re talking about in a 0.0 position that requires engine play to keep equal. Same position which a human would not evaluate to be equal due to one side needing to be flawless, which is the point of discussion.

I believe that Stefan in Icelandic would be pronounced Stevan with the emphasis on the first syllable.
@rolfkarlsson2769 ай бұрын
Well, the Icelandic version of the name Steven is Stefán, pronounced "Stefaun" with a long e and proper f-sound. Stefan Bergsson I believe is of Swedish heritage, and thus would be pronounced "stefan" with a long e.

"f" - when occur between vowels are normally voiced as a soft "v", but this is almost indistinguishable from "f" in most cases... the a in Stefán, however is pronounced more like au... so overall somewhere between "Stehfoun" / "Stehvoun" .... icelandic usually has emphasis on the first syllable also.... so the "foun/vaun" bit is usually clipped i.e. STEH-foun
@stoutlager632510 ай бұрын
"would you capture the rook on a1?" The demon bishop for inactive rook trade is something I always have to do a long think about. It's often a mediocre trade if not outright terrible. My general rule for it is if the other side can immediately take control of that diagonal in my bishop's absence, it's a bad trade. Maybe by eval it's fine but the position just got a lot more difficult for me to play.
